I made the same point many times before. I worry everytime we pair Adam and Hendo in the midfield as both are not good defensively.

Definitely miss Jay but if we need to bring someone this window.

DM, a striker and AM/winger and all important buys.

Henderson is on the right though, Gerrard and Adam are central neither are picking up the runners

Midfield has been non existent bar Stevie. It's not functioning and it's making us nervous and Bolton are getting on top of us. Kenny HAS to change things at half time. Adam should be off and we need someone holding and carrying the ball from the back. If we can get the ball to our front three more regularly we'll beat them.

Love gerrard but he has done nothing. Havin adam beside him is not doing him or us any favours, hopefully he can dictate more in second like we know he can.

I can't believe I'm going to type 'mischief' and 'Downing' in the same sentence, but I actually do think that Downing could cause Bolton a mischief - there is room for him to function down the left flank and his pace (or faster than their defence, at least).

Gerrard and Adam as a partnership is a no go. If he pairs them, Kenny has to tell Stevie to hold and not roam forward. Someone has got to be there and Adam certainly cannot be a holding midfielder so it's baffling that he's been instructed to sit there.
