New Kopcast tomorrow - what do you want discussed?

    Hi all

I'm recording the latest LFC Kopcast tomorrow and it will be online the same night.

What would you like us to discuss?

      - The Charlie Adam/Steven Gerrard partnership.

      - Will there be any incoming transfers?

      - Who will Kenny 'axe'?

P.S. If you're after specific topics that is.

Phoenix, can you elaborate on the Gerrard / Adam thing? What's your own view?

Our summer signings - winners & losers

Does Carroll need more time or we should be looking to offload him

What type of players we need to bring to salvage the season

Our style of Play - wrong players or the system needs to change

              also...
if we cannot afford to buy £30m players then why are we not trying out more lads from the reserves to replace players from the 1st team who are clearly struggling to deliver. surely the reserves are their to show promise. if they are good enough then get them playing. at this stage of the season we can be sure we are not going to get CL football, so we have nothing to lose. some of these lads will hopefully become the equivalent of a home grown £30m player
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Great ideas everyone thanks. Will incorporate these into the show.

Anyone fancy being a panelist to discuss some of these issues?

It should not be done without a defensive midfielder covering OR try Jordan Henderson in a role similar to David Vaughan for Blackpool last season, doing the legwork.

Tried Gerrard/Adam against Norwich and got split open several times.

Apologies if this came a bit late.

I'd like you to talk about the difference in our play over the course of the past 12 months. The biggest noticeable difference under Kenny (compared with Hodgson) was the amount of men that got themselves in the box. It was striking. The more time has past the less and less this has become the case. There have been games this season where we've not attacked in great enough numbers.

I actually think this is one of the things working against Carroll. He's generally a lone target man in a box full of defenders. Crosses need to be pinpoint to reach him. He should still be doing better, of course. These days we seem to be happy having Carroll as a lone target and then the rest of our attackers waiting outside the box.

I'm also curious as to why Carroll doesn't burst a gut to get into the box at every opportunity. You would think this is something that Kenny would have drummed into him, but he keeps showing a lack of willingness here, so I can only assume it's something Dalglish hasn't spoken to him about.

I think we need to go back to the drawing board as far as our style of play is concerned. Work out what kindof game we're trying to play and be more specific with player roles. For example:

                    1. We want to see us playing possession football, but when we have the chance to get numbers into the box, we need to do that. Its no good passing the ball around endlessly. Sometimes you've got to be direct.

                    2. Downing should be given some time on the left to build up some confidence. The attacking quality of Enrique should mean he gets some space to put some crosses in with his favoured left foot.

                    3. You've got to play to your strengths, and Gerrard is our main strength right now. He doesn't fit into a 4 man midfield (especially without a fit defensive midfielder), so we need to be looking at playing a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3.

                    4. Carroll should be told that his number 1 job is to get into the box and get on the end of chances. As soon as he plays the ball out to someone, he needs to get the **** in there, not dilly dally around. He also need to be told that missed chances are one thing, but he needs to improve his attitude. At the very least he needs to be running himself into the ground every game. And he needs to stay on his feet. Fight for the ****ing ball. Don't go looking for fouls and complaining.

                    5. Playing time is performance related. Players need to realise that this isn't acceptable. If players are lacking in effort and committment (based on the opposition) they should be dropped. I'd rather a youngster was given a chance that someone who feels they've made it and is just operating at 70-80% of their potential.

                    6. Not really related to philosophy, but we need to bring in a couple of players this January. We are woefully short in defensive midfield. We're craving a striker and an astute creative signing (even on loan - Zarate for example), would freshen the whole side up.

If we can do some of those things then hopefully we can start to build some momentum.

Are we as fans, expecting too much soon? - ie, after the joy of getting rid of Hodgson, Hicks, Gillette, and some of the worst players in our history(konk, pouls, jovanovic etc)- everyone was on a high......did we get too carried away? have we expected too much to happen in although it feels like a lifetime away, is only about 12 months ago when we were a disaster.

Also - if we don't make signings this january, then well we can pretty much kiss 4th goodbye this season....so how much more difficult will it be to make top 4 next season and is it realistic that we can challenge? -

If we are too challenge for top 4 this season and then next season.....what will it take - ie money/players in out/manager/back room staff etc...

                      for me....

                      this season
if we want top 4 this season we need to somehow find a striker who can score and a top cetre mid box to box destroyer, plus a creative/pacy winger would help too - get them in now, with gerrard getting back to fitness, suarez coming back from suspension - a bit of luck and buzz about the place we can still do it.....Now for me this is the vital thing...if we don't do it now - what is it going to take in the summer?

Summer 2012 - assuming we aren't buying anyone in now, and we finish say 6th - what are we going to have to do to be back amongst the challengers next season.....

                      £50m? £100m? £150m? - scary
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
