the punishment for a football fan always seems to be way and above what courts dish out for everyday criminals. a bloke possibly pissed up, bit thick and gets caught up in the moment. ill advised and should be banned for a while. but what a world we live in where someone can get banned for life for mimicking a monkey. what he did hasn't made anyone cry, he hasn't physically harmed anyone, he's just made himself look a prize tit. the world will continue to spin.

swift change of subject, but what a performance from the ref, can't remember there being a ref that wasn't card happy these days, but all refs should watch that and learn. talks to the players, there wasn't a bad challenge in the game, and i'm including maxi's mild lunge, yet other refs would have booked 6 or 7 easily.

i was so worried about Maxi's challenge. It was two-footed and though there was no intent to harm Giggs Kompany was sent off for very similar type of a tackle.

Fair play to a ref to let both teams play and didn't make this game about him
