**** it, go with AC too, and play with a back 3, give them plenty to think about.

Spurs would have a problem keeping that lot marked.

According to physioroom they have Adebayor, Walker and van der Vaart, who are expected to be back for our game, while Lennon and Defoe are very doubtful.

Beyond that they have Bentley, Gallas, Jenas and Huddlestone who are all out more long term.

                    Gallas and Huddlestone definitely out.

VdV, Lennon, Adebayor, Walker and Defoe doubts according to the papers.

Slow starter Carroll has to learn to live the Liverpool way, says Jordan

Joe Jordan knows only too well the problems Andy Carroll has had to confront since signing for Liverpool for £35million last January.

It does not mean he is prepared to extend the sympathy card as Tottenham prepare to continue their assault on the title at Anfield on Monday night.

The Spurs coach had to cope with an even more demanding burden of expectation when he joined Italian super club AC Milan from Manchester United in the 1980s.

'If you ask if I understand what the player has gone through, then yes, I do,' he said.

'And yes I think it is unfair to say Andy Carroll is not the player he was. He needed time, he has had that and the signs are he has settled in.

'Some players hit it off right away. Others take time because they need it and Carroll did. I have seen world-class players who have needed time.

'I enjoyed moving from Scotland to Leeds and then on to United. When I was signed by Milan I decided I would just go with the flow. You were the people's player. From the moment you got up you represented Milan. We were on duty all the time. You quickly learn what it is all about.

'I don't think Carroll has had all of that to deal with but like any foreign player joining Liverpool with a price tag, the expectation is in what you can produce for the team.'

Spurs had Carroll closely watched during his successful years at St James'.

Jordan added: 'Things were going great for him in a team he grew up with. When he moved he had to adjust to playing and living the Liverpool way.'

I'd like to see us go 4-3-3 as I think we can fit all our best players into the system, and we'll be set up to control the midfield:

                            -----------------------Carroll-----------------------
                            ----Bellamy----------------------------Suarez------

Carroll is actually playing well at the moment. I'd hate to see him dropped. Let the Spurs defence worry about him and we've got Suarez and Bellamy playing off him. Bellamy is playing extremely well, and Suarez will come in with a point to prove. Starting Suarez wide will give him a bit more space, and his dribbling will be frightening for the full back. We get plenty of width from the full backs, which means both Bellers and Suarez are fine to cut inside.

                            ----------Henderson----------Gerrard---------------
                            ---------------------Spearing-----------------------

Spurs are extremely strong in the centre, so playing with 3 in there is the best way to counter this imo. Spearing will put himself about and provide that defensive cover. Henderson's work rate will give us good balance, and Gerrard will give the Spurs defence something else to worry about. (switch Gerrard with Adam if he's unavailable, and play him on the left of centre)

                            ----Enrique------Agger------Skrtle------Johnson-----
                            -----------------------Reina-------------------------

Picks itself. It'll be interesting to see how Johnson gets on against Bale (compared with Skrtle). If it's looking bad, we always have the option of bringing in Kelly - who I feel is already better than Johnson defensively. We can also look to switch things up by bringing on Kuyt (to double up on Bale), at the expense of a central midfielder and switch to 4-4-2, or stick with 4-3-3 at the expense of one of the forwards. We've got options.

I REALLY hope we win this. As Shaggy said, we can nip ahead of Arsenal and put some major pressure on Chelsea. On top of that, I ****ing hate Spurs fans. They spend years in obscurity. A couple of good seasons and they're a bigger club than Liverpool. Tossers. Had a lot of **** from a few of them over the whole Suarez / Evra thing as well. Let's smash them.

like that side - got pace to come off the bench as/if Bellamy gets tired and if we need work rate there's always Dirk

Lots of work rate in the midfield with Henderson and Gerrard and if Jay can just sit infront of the back 4 some protection.

Back 4 speaks for itself, only concern there is actually Enrique who I think has been brilliant this season but has looked a little tired of late.
