    Why is Pennant getting abuse?

    I don't understand why people slate Pennant so much, everytime I watch him I think he does alright. I have a theory about it I think that people see him as a young black male who has been in trouble with the law, you see it all the time in the streets people label black youth with the same tag. So people want him to fail.
    I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

        That's rubbish. Jermaine is getting stick because he came as our right winger, something we have waited ages for and hasn't done very well. He does have a few assists but his overall game is nervous and unpolished. He needs to do better, get outside his man and beat him for pace.

        I have been advocating his arrival for years so since he arrived I want him to do extra well!

          The same thing happens with Crouch being so tall. People laugh at him and want him to fail, Pennant is 'Meant' to be a bad lad so some people dislike him.

            I think youre right tho, he is a black lad that means they are all the same, just look at that Sissoko, he's no better, he's just hit someone in a take away.

            We need more white players like that angel Craig Bellamy.

                        One thing I want to know is that why are a lot of the people who were defending Morientes last season and having a go at those were saying he was ****, are the same people having a go at Pennant

                            Morientes was proven quality from abroad and that bought him time. Pennant has only ever played in the Prem so doesnt need time to adjust to the hustle and bustle of the Premier League.

                              The reason Pennant has been getting panned is he's been gash for most of the games he's played this season.
