Thanjk you.

I don't understand why people slate Pennant so much, everytime I watch him I think he does alright. I have a theory about it I think that people see him as a young black male who has been in trouble with the law, you see it all the time in the streets people label black youth with the same tag. So people want him to fail.
Mate, what a poor post that is!
My opinion of Pennant is that he's no more than a squad player for us, and will never become a regular starter if he continues at the same level he has done so far at LFC.
When we were linked, and when we signed him, I said at the time that I didn't see anything special in the player, and that he wasn't the right sided player we needed at the time, and that he'd be no more than a squad player for us - many questioned my opinion at the time (over on that other site). My opinion hasn't changed since then, and for me he just hasn't performed as many'd hoped.
My take on him is that he hangs onto the ball for far too long when in possession, and tries to beat that one man too many instead of putting the ball in the box early. He hasn't provided us with the quailty crosses many of us thought he would, and just hasn't played to a level we need from our right winger - many of our breaks have slowed down as soon as he's had the ball too. So as I said, he'll only ever be a squad player and an option off the bench when we need width in a game. Last season for Brum he supposedly provided the most crosses in the EPL and many were bringing this up saying he'd be exactly what we need from a winger, but he just hasn't provided us with that so far, has he?!
Like some of our new signings he hasn't needed that time to settle into EPL life as he's played there for a few seasons now, so we can't use that excuse for him here, but what I will say is that some players need time to settle when they join a 'big club' and this may be a reason here, I don't know?! He was a key figure for Brum last season and was their main outlet in creating chances - maybe being just a squad member instead of a key figure at the club has affected him?! I'm just trying to look for excuses on your belhalf now mate!
The bottom line is, in my opinion, the lad just hasn't performed, especially as a £7m player - and that has nothing whatsoever to do with the colour of his skin, as you suggested many of us fans may have thought. Look at Sissoko as an example. Another black player, younger, in fact, at 21. Came from a foreign country and settled in very quickly, and has now established himself as a key figure in our starting eleven. Massively loved by the fans. So I suggest your arguement does wash with us mate.
It's time for Pennant to perform and show us that he is capable of providing the quality when called upon. Maybe Sunday's game will be the ideal chance for him to prove so, as he's up against the club that shipped him out of the EPL and the club that ended his chances of being in the limelight at a really big club.

This is political correctness gone mad
So anyone who criticises the performance of any young black male in any job is a racist - no wonder lawyers have found a new gravy train over the last few years
I dont care what colour or creed you are if you dont perform in ANY job you deserve to be criticised without having to raise "colour" as your only defence
As for football wise well heres my "racist" take on things
Bellamy (white, bad boy image) has worked hard but hasnt produced an end product
Aurelio (white) hasnt cut it whatsoever, looks totally lightweight and out of his depth
Sissoko (black, bad boy image) has been outstanding since hes joined the club works his socks off for the cause but he lacks techincal ability
Kuyt (white) works his socks off and shows signs of being a top quality striker
Gonzalez (white, bad boy image) looks lightweight in the few games hes played, has shown glimpses but nothing more, however, at least hes weighed in with a couple of goals
Pennant (black, bad boy image) baring his performance in the Community Shield and Reading (Carling Cup) hes been very poor. He seems to have the ability but hasnt seemed willing to use it. His game should be about taking on players getting to the byline and whipping in crosses we havent seen this anywhere near enough
I agree with you about Zenden hes been cack but its hard to compare Pennant and Gonzalez because Pennants been involved in many more games
For the record your mates who dont rate Crouch must be idiots, hes vital to our team play, he holds up the ball, keeps possession and its no coincidence that our results have improved when Crouch has been given a run of games
So in short you are talking absolute sh!te with the race card - Pennant has been awful and he'd still be labelled awful whether he was black, white or purple with pink spots
While I dont agree with the original poster I do agree he has been unfairly criticised. At the start of the season carragher and a few others were not playing as good as we know they can but I havent seen any threads giving him the same kind of criticism pennant is getting.
Pennant will come good and I will bet anyone he will still be here next season.

why are you talking about yourself in the third person?
i think your right ....if he was white he would be hailed as the new giggs for the start to the season....
Pennant could be ****ing polka dot for all i care.....he is getting abuse, coz he lacks effort, lacks end product, lacks quality, lacks skill and lacks 2 white parents
sorry but i concur with most ..worse thread i have read in a long long time.
