i agree the reason we give pennant stick is cause he's ****e, he's improving though last game was miles better than most but it was still not goo enough...

I think people hate Pennant because he's growing a 70's afro - it's fashion hatred - Kuyt needs to be careful, he's getting close to a Mullet.
This is the worst thread in the history of the internet.
At last a sensible post on this thread. It explains why we have failed to warm to Harry different fruity haircut every week Kewell. Kuyt is also a stone wall ging and should brace himself for the degree of hairism only previously seen in the days of Burrows and Staunton.
i think your right ....if he was white he would be hailed as the new giggs for the start to the season....
Pennant could be ****ing polka dot for all i care.....he is getting abuse, coz he lacks effort, lacks end product, lacks quality, lacks skill and lacks 2 white parents
sorry but i concur with most ..worse thread i have read in a long long time.
And you've reached this conclusion on the basis of five league starts.
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."
Well this is fantastic.. it seems that racism has been completely erradicated from the city of Liverpool and all users of LFC forums (fora?)
I can undersatnd the reaction from you guys who want to defend your rightful criticism of Pennant - I agree he's been a bit dissappointing.. and I can't recall any racist comments towards a footballer in my time on KT or here. You'd hope those with opposable thumbs able to control a mouse would know better....
But I think to dismiss the original post completely is a bit naive. Racist attitudes still exist and of course that is going to impact on how people treat a player when things aren't going that well.
Sissoko (black, bad boy image) has been outstanding since hes joined the club works his socks off for the cause but he lacks techincal ability
How exactly does Sissoko have a bad boy image? Yes, he manages to pick up his fair share of bookings, but he isn't exactly a dirty player, and hasn't done anything off the field to warrant a "bad boy image?"
The lad's an angel compared to the likes of Bellamy, Pennant and Diouf.

People are saying Pennant is ****, not Pennant is a black ****.
And you've reached this conclusion on the basis of five league starts.
I have reached the same conclusion. I think Pennant is ****. He has been at the Club longer than Kuyt so the arguement youre hinting at kinda falls down. If Pennant was so good, he'd have made more than 5 league starts.
Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body.
My opinion of Pennant is that he's no more than a squad player for us, and will never become a regular starter if he continues at the same level he has done so far at LFC.
When we were linked, and when we signed him, I said at the time that I didn't see anything special in the player, and that he wasn't the right sided player we needed at the time, and that he'd be no more than a squad player for us - many questioned my opinion at the time (over on that other site). My opinion hasn't changed since then, and for me he just hasn't performed as many'd hoped.
My take on him is that he hangs onto the ball for far too long when in possession, and tries to beat that one man too many instead of putting the ball in the box early. He hasn't provided us with the quailty crosses many of us thought he would, and just hasn't played to a level we need from our right winger - many of our breaks have slowed down as soon as he's had the ball too. So as I said, he'll only ever be a squad player and an option off the bench when we need width in a game. Last season for Brum he supposedly provided the most crosses in the EPL and many were bringing this up saying he'd be exactly what we need from a winger, but he just hasn't provided us with that so far, has he?!
Like some of our new signings he hasn't needed that time to settle into EPL life as he's played there for a few seasons now, so we can't use that excuse for him here, but what I will say is that some players need time to settle when they join a 'big club' and this may be a reason here, I don't know?! He was a key figure for Brum last season and was their main outlet in creating chances - maybe being just a squad member instead of a key figure at the club has affected him?! I'm just trying to look for excuses on your belhalf now mate!
The bottom line is, in my opinion, the lad just hasn't performed, especially as a £7m player - and that has nothing whatsoever to do with the colour of his skin, as you suggested many of us fans may have thought. Look at Sissoko as an example. Another black player, younger, in fact, at 21. Came from a foreign country and settled in very quickly, and has now established himself as a key figure in our starting eleven. Massively loved by the fans. So I suggest your arguement does wash with us mate.
It's time for Pennant to perform and show us that he is capable of providing the quality when called upon. Maybe Sunday's game will be the ideal chance for him to prove so, as he's up against the club that shipped him out of the EPL and the club that ended his chances of being in the limelight at a really big club.
Hear ****ing hear. Ab out time some sense was posted.

I was wondering why Sissoko is considered a "bad boy"?! Seems like one of the quietest and sensible players we have unless this is in refernce to the chippy incident which we don't know anything about.
