Thanjk you.

I don't understand why people slate Pennant so much, everytime I watch him I think he does alright. I have a theory about it I think that people see him as a young black male who has been in trouble with the law, you see it all the time in the streets people label black youth with the same tag. So people want him to fail.
So in short you are talking absolute sh!te with the race card - Pennant has been awful and he'd still be labelled awful whether he was black, white or purple with pink spots
Do we really want purple and pink spotted players at our club Lec???
I'm not so sure, they would just be called **** because of their colour(s)!!!
"The Liverpool offer arrived and I told the club to listen to that offer as that is the team I wanted to play for" - El Nino 03/07/07
I have reached the same conclusion. I think Pennant is ****. He has been at the Club longer than Kuyt so the arguement youre hinting at kinda falls down. If Pennant was so good, he'd have made more than 5 league starts.
Well thats that then
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."
Well this is fantastic.. it seems that racism has been completely erradicated from the city of Liverpool and all users of LFC forums (fora?)
I can undersatnd the reaction from you guys who want to defend your rightful criticism of Pennant - I agree he's been a bit dissappointing.. and I can't recall any racist comments towards a footballer in my time on KT or here. You'd hope those with opposable thumbs able to control a mouse would know better....
But I think to dismiss the original post completely is a bit naive. Racist attitudes still exist and of course that is going to impact on how people treat a player when things aren't going that well.
I'm sorry and I apologise for being blunt, but you're talking ****e. Racism is not a factor if a player is being criticised. Anyone wearing the red shirt is OK by all of us and if he plays below expectations he deserves criticism - black, white or - as in Pennant's case - a mix of both.
These PC, desperately right-on posts, which in fact patronise black people a great deal, remind me of the statement by playwright Jonathan Miller. When he was at Cambridge University one of the lecturers asked him if he'd ever experience anti-semitism. He replied "Not until now"
While I don`t think Pennant is as bad as some people say (top on assists with four, but none in the league), he hasn`t set the world alight. Like Rashid said it looks like he`s very nervous whenever he plays. The thing is that he sometimes shows whar he can do when the game has allready been decided.
If he could do it from the start of games he`ll become a real asset.

What does writing this make me?
If you could write this at the beginning of threads you'll become a real asset

Stupid thread. Pennant gets criticised because he cost alot of money and isn't delivering. People who think he gets abuse because he is black usually have a chip on their own shoulder. Bringing racism onto the forums is frankly pathetic and without substance.
