Downing/Kuyt/Spearing all heading for the exits for next season. Still desperately short of pace in the side and still we fail to correct it.

The players looked completely pissed off, especially Gerrard. I don't whether it's to do with Suarez or just the whole occasion.

Gerrard is the captain and he was just walking around the pitch like nothing was at stake.

Some of these diaplays aren't far off what we were served up under Hodgson. We looked inept. I never feel the same level of confidence in tactical preparation for these type of games since Rafa went.

Now desperately need Everton to hold Chelsea and for us to beat Arsenal in the next league game just to get back into contention. Wrong set of results this weekend could mean by the time the Arsenal game comes round in 3 weeks, we'll be light years away from 4th.

I agree with just about all of it, and have to add that Henderson where also very poor in midfield today. Spearing did well in the first half defensively, but completely lost it in the second and his passing is just far to poor in this match, and in most others.

Also furstrating how few players we have that take initiative and responsibility. It is basically Gerrard that have to take everything in to own hands in midfield today.

I thought he and Downing had terrible games and Enrique was very average at best today and we were very fortunate that Valencia has punished us more as he was outstanding.

Why can't we have a player like that

Yup, Henderson wasn't good either, but I still hold out hope for him. We overspent there, but he'll be a better player in future for the experience of games like that. Jay, yeah, I agree, he just lost it in the second half and his distribution really isn't up to it. Was it him who lost the ball for their second goal? That was what really killed the game for me.

We so SO badly miss Lucas its silly.
