Yup, Henderson wasn't good either, but I still hold out hope for him. We overspent there, but he'll be a better player in future for the experience of games like that. Jay, yeah, I agree, he just lost it in the second half and his distribution really isn't up to it. Was it him who lost the ball for their second goal? That was what really killed the game for me.

We so SO badly miss Lucas its silly.

Well well... what a game.

Gerrard was anonymous. The reason being his deployment into the back of the midfield. He's wasted and it showed in his lacklustre performance. There was one tackle he made, can't remember who he fouled, was near the line. He didn't even bother giving **** back to Dowd who called him over, he just looked meh.

We're badly missing Lucas. Spearing's confidence went after that mistake. Kuyt's legs just can't seem to hack it. First touches have been poor all round. We had so many little mistakes, as Rafa once said in the height of our Chelsea rivalry, that it's the little mistakes that cost you the game. Where United can carry passengers and poor performances, because overall the team is full of confidence, we look the opposite.

Bellamy had too little of the ball and couldn't have a positive impact. Henderson lost the ball quite often. Bar Johnson's amazing left-foot screamer he also didn't seem to be getting forward enough and made a few mistakes at the back. It's just a team bereft of confidence and ideas.

Suarez suffered due to lack of service and bottle, Downing was anonymous. We are so poor at crossing, at set pieces, it's incredible, especially considering our poor overall play, we should be making headway, ala Stoke. Yet we don't. It's completely frustrating. Carroll has the same problem that Crouch had, because he's a tall guy, many fouls on him go overlooked, which further must aggravate him, he had some half-decent lay-offs.

We're so static in the final third. We try and play via the wings, yet our wingplay is non-existant and shocking leading to static play (unlike United). So we then try and play through the middle, but our footballers just aren't playing technical enough and the middle of the park was heavily crowded, so we kept losing the ball.

Old Toilet is a difficult place to go to at the best of times, but we just couldn't muster it today. Well, FA cup v Brighton next week, should be a good game at home, and then finally the Wembley final which MUST give our players some momentum, hopefully with a trophy bagged, just in time when we play Arsenal the following weekend.

IMO Gerrard was at half pace and didn't really look arsed, he was playing very deep but it looks like he wants to.

It was the united players.....jumping up and singing that....you could hear their studs on the dressing room floor.....surprisingly there was no mention of it on telly.....

I think the biggest problem for Gerrard and even Henderson was the lack of movement from our other players. Both looked frustrated on several occasions when they had the ball

I think he was used incorrectly, but I just couldn't agree that he would ever "not look arsed" when he's playing against United.
