I'm just VERY dissapointed with our tactics - I mean the 1 player who shouldn't have been given any time & space was RVP. So what do we do? Give it to him twice & he scores twice ffs! He was their only dangerman. The defensive tactic should have been something along the lines of Sktrtel, you stick to him like flies on ****. Even if he goes to the bathroom, u go with him. I mean it's not rocket science ffs! I don't care what anybody says, we lost yesterday's game due to poor management & tactical decisions.
Don't get me wrong, Kenny is a legend & always will be. However that shouldn't blind us to the fact that he hasn't been very good. If we finish 7th (which it looks like we probably will), the Carling Cup will be meaningless & as Rafa was fired for finishing in the same position, I'm sorry to say so should the King...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

      Its ****ing laughable

Matt seems to be suggesting that a clear cut chance is an open goal from 6 yards out

How many of them are created each game by other clubs??

FACT is we are creating as clear cut chances VERY week that players at Arsenal, Man U, City and dare I say it even Newcastle would have buried

            Shocking!!
It is 5 points, the pen against Sunderland cost us 2 points, as did the miss at Wigan, Yesterday's cost us a point. Fortunately the only other league miss against Everton didn't cost us.

The changes to those results would make a huge difference, we'd only be 5 behind where Arsenal are now with a game in hand. Add to that the fact that a point for us yesterday would mean Arsenal would be 2 points worse off, which would have seen us able to go level with Arsenal in 4th if we won our game in hand.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Chances that decent finishers would take

Its absolute nonsense to suggest otherwise

Suarez chance were he hit the post was an EASY chance the angle wasnt acute he had as much area as Van Persie did to hit into

Van Persie scored his clear cut chance, Suarez didnt
But for all Van Persies brilliance, he still misses easy chances too.

Also, we're talking about one of the best players in the world in the best form of his career.

While i'm making excuses, and i wont deny that i am, Suarez has had one hell of a season, and while we all might think or hope it hasn't had an effect on his game, it surely has. imo.

You can't expect to score every pen so you can't start counting the points as if you can. And you can't conclude that the games would have ended as they did +1 for the pen.

Yes, and Arsenal have had games like that too.

it is confusing that when Carroll plays, we can't create him any 'proper' service or chances (that's the standard argument when arguing that Carroll isn't necessarily **** isn't it?) but with hindsight we have constantly created loads of great chances for our forwards who just couldn't finish. Can someone tell me which of these conflicting arguments they're going with this week?

Is it tactics or was it just defensive error

I dont think you solely assign one centrehalf to a player a clever forward would drag him all over the place and allow midfield runners into the holes created

You pass a player on the problem was the defending against him was amateurish

Carragher to me has been solely degrading, hes lost what little legs (if any) he had and has been getting by on positional play

He was positionally poor for both goals

I think Carraghers days as a centrehalf are coming to an end, next season I'd make Coates back up to Agger & Skrtel

Yes he does miss simple chances

But he misses far less of those clear cut chances than Carroll, Suarez or Kuyt do

In fact his conversion rate is probably better than all 3 of those players put together

If we had a player with half the finishing ability of RVP we would be laughing

They have indeed, and the comments have always been about how they don't have the bottle. Suggesting the same about us hasn't gone down well I notice. For them its bottle and attitude, for us its bad luck.

You should be scoring a decent percentage of them

In the last few years I reckon we've been scoring 80-90% of them if not more

We are probably close to 50% this season

                              Thats ****ing shocking

Gerrard to me is the benchmark for a penalty taker

I've been critical of Carroll missing chances

For me hes missed tons of EASY chances

                                Just like Suarez has
