If we do a cup double then I’ll consider the season a success.

I don’t think we’d have made much of an impact in the CL next year anyway so for selfish reasons I’d be happy with the two cups this year instead.

And I don’t need lectured on the significance of CL qualification, I know how important it is.

Have to agree. It's bitter sweet really. Chuffed to bits if we won both cups, amazing season full stop. But the way our league form is at present does take the shine of it, been strange supporting the team this season.

Being 4th and making the CL is great, but let's be honest, it doesn't mean a guaranteed title push, as shown by Arsenal, who are now 7 years without a trophy.

Carroll & Downing have been far from great this season, but I have been astonished to have seen them dropped after they finally started finding some form.

Questions can rightly be asked on why Maxi is continually ignored. He was fantastic when Kenny came in last year. Never had a look in since.

But aside from that, nice team. Scouse central midfield, love it. 4 homegrown players in the starting line up. Been too long.
