Yeah I'm shocked at no Didi.

Might Google translate that page actually. Seems like it might be quite an interesting interview.

to be fair, roy evans got the best of robbie fowler. he wasn't the same player when houllier had him.

We weren't the same Liverpool when Houllier came in as well. Roy Evans' Liverpool played it the Liverpool way, Houllier killed that.

Don't think Houllier ever gets the credit he deserves. Sure, he signed some sh1t, but he won quite a few trophies and got us going in the right direction (although it was a painful death).

Call me bitter or whatever, but Houllier will never get any credit from me. Cannot stand the guy.

                  Ah, come on man.

I'm not his biggest fan - duff signings, the treatment of certain players (Fowler, Litmanen) and the terrible football we played at times. I think he was delusional too.

However he made some cracking signings like Hyypia, Henchoz and Hamann and he took us to a level that Evans never managed to do.

Like I said, I'm not too keen on Houllier but he's due some credit.

IIRC Ron Yeats scouted Sami. Any CB would have been decent alongside him and Henchoz was ok for us. Didi was a cracking signing but TBH by then I was so out of love with the game because of the ****e football being served up I find it hard to find any positive feelings towards that man.

The Anelka saga as well was not very good, as was the treatment of Robbie.

Fair points I suppose. I used to feel the same way too about Houllier.

I dunno, it's easy to remember him for the **** football towards the end and with the Anelka / Fowler / Litmanen thing. That's without mentioning Cheyrou, Diouf, Ferri & Diao.

We had a couple of decent seasons under him though mate and his team beefed up our trophy cabinet.

I loved him at the time, even though his football was brutal, then it went tits up and he's been a real dick since he left us.

No Finnan either at RB either (or anyone for that matter). Always thought he was criminally underrated at the club, especially by Rafa.

Aye, Carra at right back is slightly strange.

Why? He played him as his first choice right back for years. Loved Steve Finnan - great, great player.

                                Yeah that's true actually.

Finnan was class. Not flashy but a very steady performer and a good signing. He fought off a lot of RB's under Rafa - in the end father time got the better of him and Arbeloa was just starting to make a name for himself.

Shame he retired so young really.
