The tradition in L1/L2 is to go back to physicality and 'experienced heads' when things aren't going well. It is a real problem in terms of using loans to develop young players.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostCrewe are one of the worst L1 sides in years. I know Wilson is only 18 but he can't be as good as some say if he can't get a game with that shower.
I'd be in favour of incentivizing teams at that level to play young players."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

How would you do that?Originally posted by dww View PostThe tradition in L1/L2 is to go back to physicality and 'experienced heads' when things aren't going well. It is a real problem in terms of using loans to develop young players.

If I was in charge of the FA, I would probably have a flat out bribe (ideally paid for from TV money higher up the pyramid. I would have done it at the point of renegotiating the compensation for young players being transferred but that ship has sailed). A payment made for playing X under 21 players for Y minutes. Most clubs have financial difficulties and would probably find it hard to resist complying. Self interest is usually the only way. You could also give bonuses for the number of England youth internationals provided I suppose.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostHow would you do that?
I'd also couple that with a limit on the number of substitutes over 21 on the bench.
As a club I suspect there is nothing we can do. We could try to pay people to play our loanees but managers would probably resent interference in terms of being forced into selecting particular players."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

That's not bad. Or you could say that we'll pay a percentage of wages according to their percentage of playing time. If they play 100% of matches we pay all the wages, and if they play 0% then the loanee team pay all of their wages for that week etc.Originally posted by dww View PostIf I was in charge of the FA, I would probably have a flat out bribe (ideally paid for from TV money higher up the pyramid. That sort of thing seems like the sort of imaginative solution that could work.
Speaking of which (imagination that is), based on a throw away comment by the commentator on 5Live I have come up with this speculation:- Ian Ayre used to work at Huddersfield
- Huddersfield just appointed Klopp associate David Wagner
- Did we have a hand in that in order to help give us a development pathway with trusted coaching?

Ojo splits opinion usually depending on whether he starts or not - he is a poor first half player but effective coming on for the last 20 mins.Originally posted by BigChief View PostThey only comment I could find on forums was that Howson and Wisdom did a solid job down the side that Montero plays. That can't be bad.
Wolves forums absolutely ripping into Ojo, calling him a diver and calls to **** him back off to Liverpool.
