It's like, we brought in these 'premiership proven' players who have the mentality to go to places like Stoke on a cold, rainy night and get a result, and we just can't seem to do it. Bring on a top 4 side and we're a totally different team. Why?
The only difference I saw last night from many of our other performances was Gerrard taking our chances

Without him the same old woes would still be plaguing us

One game at a time but that's got to be the aim. It'd give us 72 points and you just never know. I don't think we've won 3 on the spin all season so hoping for 11 consecutive wins is almost fantasy, but in theory there's no good reason why we can't win most if not all of our remaining games.

Does anyone know what our best ever winning streak is?

I know in the past 12 years it is 10 in 05/06, this season it is 2.

            Pepe

Hello genius! Tremendous victory against our eternal rivals in the derby with a magnificent hat-trick of Stevie. He is a genius! Now we played return to Wembley on Sunday against the Stoke. I hope that Anfield is in their best days and carried the team to semis! A hug. And on Saturday I will leave some fotito of the preparation for the party...

              Not sure about us but:

Most consecutive wins from the start of a First Division season: 11 (three times, below)
              - Tottenham Hotspur (1960–61)
              - Newcastle United (1992-93)
              - Fulham (2000-01)

It's possible but given our form of late we're highly unlikely to match this!

                    verpool's best winning run - Top 10

After looking at Liverpool's worst ever run in terms of games lost, we thought we could brighten your day by looking at Liverpool's best ever run in terms of games won.

In 2006, Rafa equalled Kenny Dalglish's record of guiding Liverpool to 11 wins in a row in the 1988-89 season. Liverpool's 3-3 draw in the FA Cup final vs West Ham put an end to Rafa's winning streak statistically speaking as we interpret that game a draw rather than a penalty shoot-out win.

Liverpool won 9 games in a row in the first part and 10 games in a row in the second part of the fantastic 1982-83 season. Only a 0-1 defeat vs Norwich on 4th December and a goalless draw vs Sunderland on 28th of December ruined what could have been Liverpool's record run appropriately under the club's most successful manager, Bob Paisley.

                    Games Period Final position
                    11 Feb 18 1989 - Apr 11 1989 2 (div 1)
                    11 Mar 15 2006 - May 7 2006 3 (div 1)
                    10 Dec 2 1893 - Feb 10 1894 1 (div 2)
                    10 Sep 17 1904 - Nov 19 1904 1 (div 2)
                    10 Mar 20 1982 - May 1 1982 Champions!
                    10 Jan 1 1983 - Feb 12 1983 Champions!
                    10 Mar 31 1986 - May 10 1986 Champions!
                    10 Aug 25 1990 - Oct 9 1990 2 (div 1)
                    9 Oct 26 1982 - Nov 30 1982 Champions!

Take away Gerrard finishing off our chances and I think we were better against Arsenal personally.. Just goes to show, a finisher and we'd not be talking about so many poor results. Over the course of the season the performances have been there but until we get a goalscorer we're gonna be inconsistent.

Good performance, we controlled the derby, kept cool heads.. Credit to the players they stepped up when it was needed.

Didnt we win 12 in a row under Rafa at one point?

Were there not some cup wins immersed in there too?

I remember the figure '12 wins in a row', couldnt remember if it was league or all comps but evidently it cant have been just league.
