About 3 years ago we played the chavs at the bridge with a patched up team due to injuries. I execpted us to get a hiding. Bruno Cheyrou even played and actually got the winner. Heskey played up front on his own and was outstanding. the entire chelsea back line couldn't mark him
Anyone reckon Rafa would have kept Heskey if he'd have still been in the squad when he took over ?? Could have been a cracking player. Had the ability which he showed at times.
He was bloody hopeless. Couldn't hit a cow's arse with a handful of rice. Who could forget his laughable miss of an open goal at the Kop end when it would have been a last-minute equaliser against the scum? I had to watch the replay about three times to work out how exactly he managed not to score. Rafa's far too intelligent to put up with a duffer like Heskey. He was strictly GH material
When we beat Arsenal 4-0 in the trebble season he was fantastic.
He was indeed. I remember him barging Keown out of the way to set up one of the goals. Owen I think.
To think of his good performances, when he was the 'raging bull' we knew he could've been, is so bloody frustrating. When really at it, he was unplayable at times.
He also had a stormer in one of the games when we beat United at home...gave Wes Brown a really torrid time. Think it was the game when Owen scored for us after a Barthez mistake, almost straight after they'd pulled one back.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
