I feel sick thinking about this situation and I genuinely have no idea what to say. I expressed my concern about it happening at the start of the season when we made ****ty signings, but I didn't believe it would materialise, not to this degree anyway. I love Kenny, but something has to change. Another season like this will put us back several more years.

But there have been a lot of games this season where we've attacked better as a unit than we did under Rafa and not pulled it off.Originally posted by el matador View Postin rafas first season, we were totally up and down in the league but we had something to believe in. We knew he didnt have the players he wanted because he only signed luis garcia and xabi alonso. Kenny has spend well in excess of £100m in 15 months and signed eight or so players.
Rafa couldnt really play the way he wanted but we still won the CL. We knew he wanted to play a game based on pressing high up the pitch and attacking teams with pace and intensity.
When you see kennys teams play football, do you actually understand the tactics because i dont. I genuinely dont understand where we're going as a team and how we're supposed to play. All i see is a load of our players constantly bunched together waiting for something to happen.
There doesnt seem to be a set method of play, the full backs dont know what to do with the ball and how to link in with their attackers. Midfield is too static, we're too slow moving the ball forward and we play people out of position all the time and then call them ****.
I dont see a lot of promise going forward and a carling cup victory that we almost blew against cardiff wont be papering over any cracks.
Put that down to bad luck or bad finishing, I'm putting it down to bad finishing personally but each to their own.
Defensively up until recently we've been excellent, we've sort of capitualted recently why I don't know.
I've mentioned that I don't think Reina has had a good season, not one of his best anyway but he will be better next year, this hasn't helped our cause combined with piss poor finishing.
When we've played well and it's all come off which hasn't been often we've been very good. A lot boils down to confidence but we need more skill in that team.
A player or two with the footballing brain to match Gerrard and Suarez wouldn't go amiss.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I always thought that this version of Kenny as a manager would be a better version of Redknapp, you know not as tactically sharp as Rafa but set his teams up to attack and have all the players play for him.
Thats the biggest disappointment for me the apparent lack of effort or cohesion from the players. We seem to be lacking ideas and attacking invention and his team selections and substitutions just smack of someone trying too hard to be clever. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

The thing is Slinky that over 75m has been already spent on the players that supposed to fullfill those requirements and bring us good quality all around and Carroll cannot even start, Hendo had 1 assist and 1 goal so far, Downing 2 goals and 1 assist in all competitions and Adam is squaddie at best.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostBut there have been a lot of games this season where we've attacked better as a unit than we did under Rafa and not pulled it off.

FFS ****ing Newcastle spent less what we paid for Downing alone to get Ba, Papa Cisse, Cabaye and Tiote and every single one of them would walk into our team..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Neither one of Cabaye nor Tiote would get in our team when people are fit. That's like us saying Henderson and Adam would get in Newcastle's team, when Cabaye and Tiote are injured.Originally posted by Mostar View PostThe thing is Slinky that over 75m has been already spent on the players that supposed to fullfill those requirements and bring us good quality all around and Carroll cannot even start, Hendo had 1 assist and 1 goal so far, Downing 2 goals and 1 assist in all competitions and Adam is squaddie at best.

And Papa Cisse has been here 2 minutes, slight exaggeration. Ba would get in our team to play with Suarez, Cisse wouldnt.

but kenny never set up an attacking side before; i remember watching kennys teams with 5 at the back & Burrows, Staunton in midfield. He has never been an all out attacking manager. His plan seems to have relied on 2-3 players to make the difference & score & the remainder to ensure we do not concedeOriginally posted by The Birdman View PostI always thought that this version of Kenny as a manager would be a better version of Redknapp, you know not as tactically sharp as Rafa but set his teams up to attack and have all the players play for him.
