Without hearing about how **** everyone was and how Kenny needs to be sacked can someone tell me how Sterling did, saw on the Sky spots app he got on for ten minutes.

Did really well for those few minutes that he played.

Had one nice run inside, one decent cross from the left, connected nicely few times with Enrique etc.

All in all he (apart from Suarez) was the only bright spot today.

Kenny's hardly gonna say "I bought a load of **** players". There is no other excuse for us being where we are, nothing we can do till the summer.

He got 8 minutes .. looked lively made some good runs, not sure defensively he is up to speed but good to see him on the pitch, I has lost interest in the game by the time he came on to be honest.

We dont deserve to be in the Champions Lg with the kind of ****e we have been asking the fans to pay for this year.

Theres only so many times you can say you are unlucky

What's that little motto of ours again? Something along the lines of "No one person is bigger than the club"

Oh, and that other one, something along the lines of "players and managers will come and go, Liverpool football club will always remain"

And of course the short and simple "the club comes first".

I love Kenny. I always have and I always will. Nothing will ever diminish my undying love and adoration for that man. But I can't keep living in denial. I can't keep ignoring the fact that we're regressing in the desperate hope that its all eventually going to click and fall into place for us. My heart is telling me to defend him at all costs, but my head just wont let me blank out the harsh truths. Because the truth is, our league campaign has been beyond bad. It has actually been a total and utter failure. That was our 10th loss today. We've lost one third of all our league games. We have also drawn 9. Our home record is appalling. We've been continually dropping points all season against dross opposition. And there's no point denying the fact that we invested a significant amount of money in players who have simply not delivered.

We finished on 63 points in 2010. We played 38 games that season, winning 18, drawing 9 and losing 11. If we drop just 1 more point between now and the end of this season then we'll finish our league campaign on a lesser points tally than we finished on in 2010. Does anyone really think we have the ability to win our last 7 games on the bounce? Considering we have yet to even string as little as 3 wins together this season, I don't see us pulling it off to be honest, and I generally pride myself on being an optimist. Can we finish higher than 63 points this season? Sadly, I don't think we can. Rafa was sacked for finishing on 63 points and he didn't have the luxury of signing nigh on 100 million pounds worth of players in two transfer windows.

In my mind we've got a two options here. Option 1 is we retain the current management, despite the fact we're slipping ever further towards mid table. We retain them in the hopes that they can improve 10 fold on this seasons abysmal league campaign. My heart wants this option.

Option 2 is the harder one. Option 2 is the one where we don't let our hearts rule our heads, and where we apply the same assessment criteria to the current management that was applied to our former European Cup winning manager in 2010, just 1 short year after he had led us to a club record points tally of 86.

That's what it essentially boils down to IMHO. Those motto's I mentioned are ringing loud in my head right now if I'm honest. And I say that with a heavy heart. I can't put in words how much I wanted the clubs greatest living icon to return and to be a triumphant. Every one of us wanted it, but sadly I don't think its going to have the ending we all wanted. I'd love to be proved wrong mind, but that's just how I honestly feel. I also think we'd be foolish to let a league cup success mask the fact that we're slipping further behind in our league form. But as I said, nothing will ever diminish my love and adoration for that man, he will always be the living breathing embodiment of all that is good about Liverpool FC. I'm just offering my honest feelings is all, in the most respectful way I can. Because I've nothing but total respect for Kenny, and I always will
                    Can't argue with that.

                      Interesting stat;

If the league started on January 1st, Liverpool would be bottom of the table.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wonder how that will be interpreted or rationalised.

That's wrong we'd be 3rd bottom (not that it makes things much better).

We've picked up 8 points since then, QPR have matched that (we'd be ahead on GD) and Wolves are worse than that with 5 points in 11 matches since the turn of the year

Kenny needs to be given another season. We don't chop and change managers, it doesn't work. Rafa will not be back, to divisive.

I seriously see today as a turning point. I think it was Dalglish's acceptance that his signings have no worked.

Carroll - Very surprised he didnt start. For me this is a sign that Kenny does not trust him. When he came on we actually got worse. There were several good balls put into the box today yet he mistimed his runs or does his usual trick of falling over. He's rubbish and I think Kenny knows that now. Get rid.

Downing - Started poorly, misplacing some simple passes. Had a good end to the first half but was anonymous for the rest of the match. It was telling that he was withdrawn. Again, I think it showed that Kenny has lost faith in him.

Henderson - Withdrawn at half time, didn't realise he was playing first half. Awful performance.

Basically none of the three Kenny signings Carroll, Downing, Henderson completely 90 minutes. Surely that is a stark admission from the manager.

                                As for the others:

Carra - it can't have gone un-noticed that we have gone from a great defence to a poor one with Carra back. Time to give him a coaching role. Play Coates for the rest of the season.

Dirk - Completely anonymous today. Cannot have been surprised to be taken off.

Spearing - has played very well recently, but surely not needed at home to Wigan.

Gerrard -poor today, looks completely down. Cannot be a centre mid, as he cannot control the game. Better on the right or behind Suarez surely.

The kids - Sterling and Shelvey were good when they came on. Would love to see both get a run or games. Flanagan showed why he will struggle to get ahead of Kelly and Johnson. He is young, but not sure how he will get games really.

The teams bubble completely burst after the second goal. We are now bereft of confidence and it's difficult to see where the confidence is going to come from. Some big mistakes have been made, not least the failure to address the gaping hole up front in January. We can only hope Kenny has sussed the problems. We can only hope he doesn't actually believe the statements he is making to the press about luck, tiredness, and how good these players are. This is without question the worst Liverpool side in 3 decades. Average, mid table players all over the pitch.

How this goes is up to Kenny now. A failure to admit mistakes and ship out Carroll, Downing, Kuyt, Carra and not persist with the likes of Henderson starting every week will lose him his job and maybe some of the adoration he holds on the Kop.
Suarez - his tricky, try anything (even illegal) self at least tried everything today.
