You're are right about the decisions, and right that the game could be very different had they gone the other way, but when you look at our form, and how crap we were in general, it just seems weird to dwell on it. Problems are so much bigger.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSo it wasnt a penalty then? And not a red card?

It's always someone eleses fault with ye lot.. We have a **** team, we had a **** team at the start of the season, we had a **** team at the end of January and we have a **** team now. This team will never ever be capable of finishing in the top 6.
The players are not fit to wear the shirt.
The manager is not fit for the modern game.Last edited by kingfunk; 01-04-12, 03:43 PM.

Was it a handball/penalty? Should it have been a red card?
If we go 1-0 up and play against 10 men, would it have been the same game?
Answers please, if you will.

It would depend on FSG really. If they wanted him, he'd be back like a shot - that's no secret.Originally posted by tommyg View PostWhat are our chances of getting Rafa back if Kenny went tomorrow? I haven't been that up to date with all of the news/rumours/gossip but roughly what %?K ris90210

Maybe if the officials had given a CLEAR CUT PENALTY then maybe we'd score?Originally posted by Eric Swindler View PostCant blame the officials for that. We had chances and didnt score.
That's like saying, "It doesnt matter that the ref rules out our goals, we just didnt score" Of course it matters and of course you can blame them.
The ball is going into the net - Simpson clearly plays the ball with his arm, on the goal line. If he doesnt do that, it's a goal.
So it's a penalty and a red card. Clearly. Ref disgracefully doesnt give it. If he does his job, we're 1-0 up against 10 men and the game is vastly difference. But he ****s it up.
Whose fault is that then, if not the ref's? Willie Thorne's?

I hate to say it, but I think Kenny's time with us must be drawing to a close soon. I'd rather he wasn't sacked, but given the opportunity to leave of his own volition. Probably no point until the summer, as the season's ****ed anyway, but he seems to be doing worse that bodge. We haven't quite sunk to the league low that bodge managed, but it's only a matter of time at this rate.
I'd love to see Rafa back, with Kenny stepping back upstairs. How sensible or feasible that scenario actually is, is debatable, as he does have a lot of baggage with him, but what other options are there? Start from scratch with a brand new manager, in which case we probably write off most of next season, as he builds 'his' team, or bring back Rafa, who at least knows how the club operates - or at least should operate

Our movement was awful today. Our midfielders got in each other's way. We rarely had anyone out wide in space and Carroll was once again stranded most of the time. When we had possession we moved the ball around so slowly Newcastle could just trot back behind the ball and wait until we messed up a pass. No pace, no urgency.
I'm trying to cling onto the good performances we've produced this season but at the moment it's hard to remember them. That said - if we had an in form goal scoring striker in our team - our season would've been so different.
