Vegard Heggem on Twitter - Q&A

    Taken from LFC.TV

Mods - feel free to move if this is in the wrong forum.

@KennyKeeton_ Who was the best player you ever played with?

That's got to be Stevie G

@LFCtillwedie what have you been up to recently

Mainly kept myself busy building up a salmon fishing business, and studying for a Bachelor of Management

@AlexChung90 As a reds fan, what was your emotions like, when Liverpool came back from 3 nil down against Milan in 05?

I'll never forget that night, so glad I made the trip to Istanbul. Would've loved to play, though

@themattyinnit what was your favourite Liverpool moment?

That'll be my debut at The Dell on the opening game of the 98/99 season. 2-1 win! Goal at Riverside also rated highly

@hendrikgrendel Do you still play football? In lower divisions?

I play some football with some mates from time to time, but no league stuff. Legs no good for it!

@sean_1892 hey, who was the best player you played against?

David Ginola on form was a nightmare to play against. Strong, quick, two footed & great crosser of the ball

@Kazziwaz what are your thoughts on Liverpool this season?

As most other fans I'm disappointed with the league performance, not finishing top 4. Frustrating.

@weldoncrow would you have taken a penalty at Istanbul if you were playing?

Not a chance! I was awful at taking penalties.

@MikeConnolly4 when are you next coming over ?

I've seen them live twice this season, next trip will be some time next season.

@kweekes1993 which club did you support growing up?

My local side Rosenborg here in Trondheim

@AdamHodkinson1 what do you do in your spare time?

I try to keep fit, enjoy cooking, fly fishing, and generally being outdoors

@Simon_Murdoch what were the lads like off the pitch? Were you all mates? Who kept to themselves?

It was a great dressing room atmosphere during my time at the club. I looked forward to coming to training every day.

@0ddFuture_ who do you think our best player has been this season?

I think Enrique has been our best player, I really like his style of play

    @andreasskain Messi or Ronaldo?

    Messi

@KopMan1892 what is going wrong at LFC?

LFC have underprfrmd in the league this season, no one knows it better than the manager and the players. They will bounce back.

@JGSpiers Do you think we will make the FA Cup final?

Of course, we'll give Everton a good beating I'm sure it'll be a hell of a atmosphere!

@harrypatan Do you want to go into management and if so, would you like to manage Liverpool?

Management is not for me. I'm a board member at Rosenborg at present, a job that I've enjoyed a lot so far.

@JGSpiers Did you watch the Newcastle game at the weekend?

I was on a train from Oslo, so I missed it. Not the worst game to miss, I've gathered...

@Donnelly_LFC How did it feel walking out at Anfield for the first time in your career?

Probably exactly how you could imagine it yourself. Priceless!

@steingrimJJ are the rumors true about you feeding the famous Anfield cat, with your salmons?

It's mostly catch and release at my lodge, so it's not me

@LFCamiArias2 Who was your football idol when you were a kid?

I had Diego Maradona on my wall, he was the big hero

@DJHarrison94 hey, did you ever have the chance to play against zidane?

Yes, played against him for Norway in Marseille. He scored an absolute stunner. I got one too

@sids1973 do you get to many Liverpool games now?

I try to travel over to watch one or two games every season.

@ichem_TIR what team did you most hate playing against while at LFC and why?

Goodison always difficult to travel to, but the tension, noise and excitement at the games were fantastic

@Jay_LFC_90 Do you think Liverpool can still attract big name players even though we won't be in the Champions League for a while??

Sure. Liverpool is a huge club, and will continue to be so in the future.

@lee_fulcher THX 4the service! would you tell @LFC IF you found any young talented players back home?

Definitely, I'd recommend any Norwegian player good enough to play in the PL to #LFC

@James7Draper How did you feel when you scored your first Liverpool goal?

Don't remember, I blacked out and ran like crazy towards the away fans area at the Riverside!

@rizalpalapa tell us something we didnt know during your time at LFC

Steve Staunton gave me the nick name Vedgy/Veggie

@JudeBrent You were present at the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul. Can you sum up that match in one word?

    Magic!

@bishalneupane7 we played great but never had luck in league game what are your thoughts ?? YNWA

We've deserved better from our performances this seasons. "Unfriendly woodwork" is no excuse, we must be more effective

@sholagiwa23 how important do u think the transfer window is to us bouncing back?

We must first look at the players we got. The players who wish to stay at the club must now step forward and show their worth

@GurraGooze Did you trade shirts with opponents after games? If so - did you keep them?

I have a several shirts, favorite one is Maldini's after beating AC Milan away to reach the QF of the Champions League with #RBK

@Redderslfc how would you describe playing in front of the kop?

It's a fantastic experience. Glad I managed to get a goal in front of it

@DeepMoorjani was it like playing alongside Michael Owen in his prime?

He was amazing when I joined the club. Top lad as well. Gutted that he signed for Man Utd.

@ChrisMors1 You signed my shirt for me in the LFC shop about 12 years ago. I still have it in my draw with your number and name on the back!

Good man! But: in the drawer?! You should stick it on the wall ;-)

@leetomdocherty hi vedgy. how's salmon fishing treating you?

Salmon fishing gives you the same rushes of adrenaline, frustration and euphoria as football can do

@rocky_66 Who would you like to win this years Champions League?

Couldn't care less. CL without #LFC is hardly worth watching ;-)
Clearly a massive Red still. Shame his career got cut short through injury because he was a class little player.

One of my favourite players. Was awesome when fully fit and ahead of his time.

He must've been very young when he retired as he was only 23 or 24 when he played for us? Real shame that because he looked brilliant in his first season.

Top player. He makes my favourite all time LFC XI. We have a right back in our reserves who is a spitting image of him and plays like him too -the irish guy Mcloughlin.

Unless my mind's playing tricks, Bradford. At Anfield. Redknapp and Camara got the others I think. Might have been the game Windass blasted the ball at the ref's head

Could've been a Reds legend had he not had his injuries. Proper player.

He would have no doubt. And he's still only 36. We lost 3 successive great right backs to injuries/illness: Rob Jones, Heggem, Babbel.

Heggem was an amazing crosser of the ball.
