In isolation, as with many games this season, we were flagrantly the better team on the pitch. We're not great, especially infront of goal, but in any other season we'd be in here saying we controlled the game and just couldn't convert our chances. How Kuyt didn't score I don't know, and as for Carroll, for a guy who i supposed to be so great in the air he really has no idea how to score with his head, seems to be he just hopes to connect and it goes in. The problem though is that this isn't in isolation, its been happening all season.

We are just cursed, its the best explanation

Again the midfield didn't look quite right, Henderson, Downing, Gerrard, Shelvey, none of them seemed to really want to attack the box. The commentators on my stream seemed to think Downing had a decent game, I thought he was just so mundane again. If only Suarez had someone to play with who had the same level of technique and invention he does we would already be a very different side.

If the season started now we'd be level on points with Man City.

Show whom? The majority of the squad looks like they can't even turn it around and how many do you go around showing the door to? I'm all for emotional hardship during times like these but practically, it was bound to happen after that Arsenal loss when we realistically lost any chances we had of a top four spot.

                  Losing my patience.

We looked better with Gerrard back in the middle of the park, mainly due to the Shelvey, Henderson pairing which just wrong; no bite, no drive and very open. Shelvey showed his positional naivety today, leaving Henderson isolated. Henderson looked timid and was more reactive than proactive.

I don't think we know how to get the best out of Suarez which is a major concern as he is our best player; Gerrard and Torres worked because the latter played off the last man. Gerrard and Suarez is never going to work, mainly because they both end up occupying the same space.

Because we have a redundant front line, we were reliant on Kuyt coming off the right to be our threat in the box (Downing should have been doing the same from the left, but it never got going), meaning we needed Flanagan to stretch the defence, but he was understandably concerned about being caught out of position.

Agger showed in 15 minutes what Carroll should be doing when attacking a set-piece.

Positives? We didn't lose four on the bounce.

                  That is all.

Oh, and as for all the "kenny out" stuff, yeah its quite possible he should go at the end of the season. I think its likely now that he will. FSG will not be liking this one bit.

However, I ask you one thing. What would be the point of him going right now? The season is over in the league, the prize money thing between 7th and say 10th is minor in the grand scheme of things. And he deserves the chance to win the FA cup, we've a good record in knockout games this year. And there are no obvious candidates around the club to take over. Steve Clarke?

lots of woeful performances, on and off the pitch. need to just get through to the end of the season and look to re-build, from the top down. dont think we will be top four finishers for a few years. we are going no where with this management team and playing squad. the mentality of winning just isnt there. no drive, passion, intelligence, prospects of youth team players being promoted to the first team, nothing. just cannot find anything positive to say about the route our team is taking. we are like passengers on a bus with no one actually driving. so upset and pissed off.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Precisely my question too. Our overall display hasn't been that bad this season. Yes it has been 'poor' of late but on the whole we were a bit unlucky not to notch a few more points by Christmas.

And we have done fairly well against teams in the top 6 currently. Just get the season over with and then do the decision making.

**** off mike, get him out now. let rafa pick the team and we'll still get 4th.

I agree, there is no point sacking Kenny right now. I am hoping he stands down at the end of the season though. It is hurting us and it is hurting him.

                                Very few positives.

We are just not good enough to win even against poor Villa which were exactly my worries that I expressed in build-up thread.

Too many mediocre and passive players.

                                Things need to change.

                                We are going nowhere.
