I've said for a few weeks that non of the available combinations of central midfielders offer enough protection for the back fourOriginally posted by Muddled View PostLosing my patience.
We looked better with Gerrard back in the middle of the park, mainly due to the Shelvey, Henderson pairing which just wrong; no bite, no drive and very open. Shelvey showed his positional naivety today, leaving Henderson isolated. Henderson looked timid and was more reactive than proactive.
.
Today reinforced that even more
Kenny has to take responsibility for not bringing in back up/short term replacement for Lucas
Major major mistake as is not bringing in a striker in January

So, who all do you want sold and how do you guarantee that the new players that come in are mentally strong? It happens once in a while. Just give it time and let it go.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostThose who can't be arsed of course. Too many mentally weak players, too many average players and not enough quality all round. After the optimism from this time last year, this feels awful.
Personally, I'd sell Downing and Adam, but I'd want to keep Henderson and Carroll.Patience when teased often, transforms into rage

I am sure he will officially not be 'sacked' more moved aside. It is a horrible situation for the Icon of our club to find himself in.
From what I have seen of JWH and FSG, they act with dignity. This season has not gone well really, a lot of investment and if anything we are more lost and further behind than we were this time a season ago. The top teams in the league are vanishing out of sight.
A ****e state of affairs all round really.Modifying post.

Do you know what Michael, if we lose to Blackburn and Everton I would not be surprised in the slightest if Kenny resigned before the end of the season. It's getting ridiculous now.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostOh, and as for all the "kenny out" stuff, yeah its quite possible he should go at the end of the season. I think its likely now that he will. FSG will not be liking this one bit.
However, I ask you one thing. What would be the point of him going right now? The season is over in the league, the prize money thing between 7th and say 10th is minor in the grand scheme of things. And he deserves the chance to win the FA cup, we've a good record in knockout games this year. And there are no obvious candidates around the club to take over. Steve Clarke?

Once in a while! It has been too often this season, we have a 34% win ratio in the league, worse than Hodgson.Originally posted by destinydude View PostSo, who all do you want sold and how do you guarantee that the new players that come in are mentally strong? I wouldn't mind losing all of them, none are in any way good enough and Carroll lacks the basics to be a good player at the top level and Henderson has imo the wrong mentality.Last edited by Mattshark; 07-04-12, 05:28 PM.

The huge problem is our midfield. Hendo and Jonjo are not ready yet and they haven't really played together and Hendo has no confidence in himself at the moment he should not play at all.
When Luis needs to get to almost half line to get the ball cannot never be a good thing.
Also we don't commit enough bodies in the box when we attack so there is no point of trying to cross.
Downing went into hiding again and Enrique really needs a break and someone has to go over the match film with him as he is holding and holding on the ball too much and when he passes it is either too late or totally wrong option.
I better stop as I could go on and on, which is really ashame..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

No point in selling Downing, he wont retain value and can be used as a squad player.
Henderson has youth and basic attributes on his side. The times they are a changin'.

how do you know of hendersons mentality? have you sat him down and psychoanalysed him?Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI wouldn't mind losing all of them, none are in any way good enough and Carroll lacks the basics to be a good player at the top level and Henderson has imo the wrong mentality.

And then get what in return for all of them? There's not much wrong with Henderson IMO. Not all players are mentally strong at 21.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI wouldn't mind losing all of them, none are in any way good enough and Carroll lacks the basics to be a good player at the top level and Henderson has imo the wrong mentality.Patience when teased often, transforms into rage
