I havery noticed that teams that have won this competition over the years have suffered bad form in the league so has the curse hit us?

Birmingham went into free-fall after winning it last year; I think I read recently that they had one more point on the table than Aston Villa have now (or atleast, before the weekend mebbe).
But before that, I think you'd have to go back to 2004 too see a team suffer for winning the Carling Cup. Perhaps we could look at Spurs winning the trophy and how they pushed on from that.

I think it mostly happens when there is a feeling of achievement accompanying it. Other dips in form this season we seem to have bounced back from quite quickly. The relief/celebrations in the final look in retrospect like a bad sign. I think in both our and Birminghams case players lost focus after the win, them thinking they were safe in the league and us thinking we would finish mid-table baring a miracle. Top teams have a stronger winning culture and its less of a problem.Originally posted by Angryred View PostI havery noticed that teams that have won this competition over the years have suffered bad form in the league so has the curse hit us?"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
