none of his business who the owners appoint and a new manager does not need his blessing

Don't think anyone should be happy because we have no idea whats gone on.. I doubt he was the soul blame for the summer signings.. Watching Kenny's interview before he seemed pretty confident he wanted those players.
As bad as he has been, there is a chance without him we'd have had no Suarez. Can now actually see this taking pressure of Kenny though and him having another chance to put it right this summer.Vive la France

The worry now is that Comolli was the sacrificial lamb for the poor performance. If the poor form conitinues, have they placed Dalglish into an even more unsackable position?
Some fans are borderline religious when it comes to Kenny, its difficult enough peering through the sentimental fog to get objectivity as it is.

Apparently the information was leaked somehow to the press and they had no choice but to act immediatelyOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostSurely they could've waited til after the semi FFS?
Standard excuse in these type of situations.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostThe whole family reasons thing smells of bull**** to me.
No-one gets sacked anymore, they just get mutually consented.
He is gone coz FSG wanted him gone.
We'll see what happens in summer. I am not so sure that his job is safe.Originally posted by Lecter View PostIt could also be as Henry Winter has said it shows Dalglish's power at the club
FSG appointed Comolli and one of his briefs was to keep continuity at the club in the event of changing managers. I remember that clearly they wanted the club to keep a certain identity in ther way we played and they didnt want that to change when the manager was changed
Yet he has gone and Kenny is still here
It never had the chance of success the way Comolli was combining stats and scouting effortsOriginally posted by Lecter View PostRIP Moneyball
I have to agree with that. Except CC and FA run this season in the league has been total disaster.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostIf we finish around halfway or bottom half it won't matter a hoot what we win IMO. Beyond unacceptable.
7th and a Cup double makes it a tricky decision for me. Dunno. Tough one.
Not a fan of either but Henderson has a chance of turning into a decent footballer.Originally posted by Chris View PostNo they arent, Henderson has been miles worse than Adam.
Adam not so much..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Unless I've missed something here while a DoF clearly needs to work with the manager I thought their role was to provide continuity over and above the managerial changes that happen.
The club sets and follows a clear youth development, scouting and transfer policy (in and out) and this is driven by the DoF so that when the manager leaves as they all do bar Fergie and Wenger the club isn't affected as much by the uncertainty.
IF we replace Comolli with another DoF then he needs to be FSG's man, Kenny has nothing to do with it imo.
If Kenny doesn't like it then he goes and we get a manager that does. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I think it'll prove the matter one way or another.
Could be that KK gets another season or could be that theyve already made their decision & that he moves upstairs again in summer & FSG want to separate the issues so it can be said it's not a problem with either of them to save face.
The worry is of course we'll get a new DoF & theyll also be ****e (assuming that is being levelled at DC). Dont like DoFs really tbh.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I really do think Henderson has a lot of potential, but he hasn't been handled properly. Similairly, Carroll seems to have been managed incorrectly - there are always going to be question marks about why he can never hold a place after he has done well. Its Babelism all over again, except with a higher value, more mentally fragile product.
The real dubious signings for me were Downing and Adam.

Kenny has until Christmas next year, if we start next season how we have finished this one (to date) he will be gone by the January window.Originally posted by PC Plod View PostI think it'll prove the matter one way or another.
