There was a story on YNWA many years ago think Patrick (Figaro) told it

It was when Cuyff was at Barca

Romario & Stoikovic were doing the crossbar challenge - 3 shots from the centre circle and see how many times you could hit the bar and betting a weeks wages on the result

Stoikovic goes first hits the bar once in his 3 attempts

Romario hits twice in his 3 attempts

Apparently Cruyff clocks them doing this and says he will beat Romario and offers to bet him 2 weeks wages. Romario agrees

Cruyff promptly hits the bar 3 times in his 3 attempts

            Hello mert.

In his first season of management, Cryuff's Ajax had a goal difference of +85 in the league.

Maybe our owners are taking our goal scoring troubles a bit too seriously.

We have had a rough season with injuries, but no medical team in the world can prevent what happened to Lucas, Adam and Agger.

Aurelio like you say doesn't count. Plus Kelly & Johnson have had hamstring / leg injuries for as long as I can remember.

It would be nice to have an injury-free season for our key players though.
Thing is mate, weren't both Lucas and Adam sent back on to the pitch and told to 'run off' what turned out to be ligament damage?

I didn't see the Adam one. But whoever told Lucas to play on after he was assessed on the sideline, is responsible for the severity of his injury. It must have been apparent that there was likely ligament damage. Playing on was only going to do one thing, make it worse. If he had been subbed at that point he would not have suffered such a serious long term injury.

It was a spectacular cock up and it should have been prevented.

No but we have Stewart Downing for that

That'd only take us 21 years on current form...

If they appoint Cruyff, then it means our owners are dead set on running the club in a more european style.

The media opinion and protestation of Kenny being all powerful, will be short lived if Cruyff comes here.

That wont impress Kenny as our strikers are already very good at hitting the bar
