After discussing with the AFC Ajax board of directors, Johan Cruijff has decided to step down from his position on AFC Ajax NV’s Advisory Board, on a date which is still to be determined by the board of directors.

A new Advisory Board needs to be appointed in the short term. In Johan Cruijff’s point of view, this is critical as a period in which decisions about the upcoming season need to be made is coming soon.

At the request of the board of directors, Cruijff remains available for the club in a different role, in order to see through the implementation of his football vision for the club. The board is pleased and will soon be discussing with Cruijff how this role can be fulfilled.

One of the problems in that Lucas was "Bulletproof" until then so neither him nor medical staff could have gaged properly the extent of that injury given his he-never-gets-hurt status.

I also think given the importance of that game, if it was me I am not sure that I would've done anything differently especially as I sure Lucas himself said "I'll try to run it off" not knowing the severity of the injury.

Tough one to call and I think we (Lucas) were very unlucky there.

I'm sorry Mos, but thats ridiculous! Whether a person has been injured before or not has absolutely zero significance on assessing a new injury.

Any half decent local GP can easily identify a torn or strained ligament so I fail to see how a specially trained physio or 'sports scientist' couldn't have known.
