A new cult hero



Absolutely brilliant result and second half performance. Carroll was superb throughout, so pleased for him and the fact he didnt let his head drop when he missed that simple header early in the second half.

First half we were dire and it looked as if the decision to include Carra and shuffle the backline around was gonna cost us as many people feared. But Kenny deserves a huge amount amount of credit for his tactics, substitutions, half time team talk etc, first half he seemed to get everyone wrong where second half he seemed to get everything right!

Even playing Henderson on the left and Downing on the right worked well, with Maxi and Bellers perfect replacements for them. Downing pissed me off though grumbling as usual as he was subbed off.

Everton were ****e and even as dire as we were in the first half their only real chance was the one we presented them with. They should have gone for us at that point but they sat back and just defended their one goal lead which totally played into our hands and allowed us to dictate the game. Really pleased with our spirit and resilience too, would have been easy to crumble.

Anyway absolutely ****ing delighted!!!!

Kudos to Kenny for reacting well, and the changes made were absolutely spot on. In fairness, Everton's negative approach in the second left Jelavic completely isolated which took a huge burden of that uncertainty in defence, as there was next to no pressing from their midfield which allowed us that extra room to step up when in possession.
But we created a few decent opportunities with that possession and once the Suarez goal went in, you felt that the tide had completely turned and there was only going to be one outcome, even if it went to extra time.
