I think Dom asks better, if not the best, questions than anyone else on the forum.

In many ways I see Dom being the forum's main question askerer, and... right now, we need someone to ask some questions. Number one, he asks questions, number 2 we have questions that need asking. So well done Dom, well done.

Aren't you worried about being one of the three who ask the worst questions? Perhaps they're the ones who don't ask questions at all. Is not asking questions worse than asking bad questions? And, if so, is not saying anything worse or better than making statements?
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

And now you've got me worrying. Either I am going to have to sort myself out and get my questions to the same calibre as Dom's, or maybe I know its my name in the envelopes... so now I don't care.

Either way the names have been written already and placed in the sealed envelopes. So surely it doesn't matter if I try and prove you wrong. My card is already marked. If indeed it is my name in the envelope.

I'll just keep asking **** questions

Now you're starting to sound like Hodgson.

I'm actually pleased that sourcunt Lawro doesn't like the series - I make a point of disagreeing with everything he says anyway so this just adds to that.

                  How stupid is Lawrenson though?

What on earth is Brendan Rodgers doing in this programme Being: Liverpool?

I have to say - I’m sorry - tawdry. A real error of judgment for him have agreed to appear in it.

Why did he agree to it? He has come into a football club steeped in history and tradition.
He didn't ****ing agree to do it. It was all long agreed before he got the job - in fact filming began when Kenny was in charge. Kenny agreed to it, thinking it would be good for the club.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yup, those Lawro quotes were way over the top. If Shankly was to be watching modern football I'd have thought far more important things would have him "turning in his grave" than Ian Ayre on a motorbike
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                    Mine angry and defrauded young?

                      Infinitely.

I ****ing hate and don't understand why in the face of ANY problem at Liverpool - people hark back to Shankly like you know what he'd be thinking and doing. You have no ****ing idea. For all you know, he'd be in favour of the TV show and Twitter because he didn't want a huge gap between players and fans, he wanted everyone all in this together.

I actually like the stuff, it's a nice insight into the club and some of the players. Seeing how close Luis and Lucas are and them travelling to training together is so cute. Hearing Spearing talk about how much he clearly loves the club makes me want him to succeed. It's refreshing.

Yeah, I have grown to prefer the 'Hello' magazine bits more than the behind the scenes training and pre match stuff

Perhaps certain things are better kept off camera.

I wish they'd dedicate an entire episode to Spearing's dog - Pops is brilliant.

I can't comment about the creepy thing as I've not said it, but I think that it's probably tongue in cheek.

Re the blagger comment, as Neil has rightly said, we can't be sure either way and it doesn't really matter - it's the results that matter the most and those will determine how long he stays for.
So basically you’re saying most of the criticism he’s drawing from his turn on Being: Liverpool is irrelevant and its what happens on the pitch that he should be judged on. Which is exactly the same point I was making.

Have you seen Shaggy's edit in the post match thread? That is exactly the type of thing he comes out with in team talks and in interviews. I think his method of communicating might probably work well with the youngsters, but for men in their late 20s to mid 30s who have been around a bit?
I think it harsh to speculate that he’s a blagger because he’s verbose and maybe overdoes the soundbites. It dismisses how he’s established himself as a coach and then became a top flight manager despite not having had any real playing career as a starting point. Which is similar to Benitez and Mourinho and I think its far more likely that Rodgers has got to where he is thanks to having a similar diligence and dedication as those 2 rather than spinning a load of clap trap everywhere he’s been.

I agree that the programme makes you wonder how other managers would compare in the same circumstances. And this is where I think its been a thankless task for Rodgers, because the others suitability as managers is judged mainly on how their team performs and also to a lesser extent, how they conduct themselves in more controlled press conferences and match interviews.

If the cameras followed Wenger or Fergie around we’d see more of their personality quirks or oddities, but so what, it wouldn’t make the slightest difference to how they ultimately perform as mangers. Look at Rafa for example, remember that weird ‘White liquid in a bottle’ proverb he came out with? He could have been coming out with stuff like that behind the scenes from day one for all we know. Even so, it wouldn’t change what he did for us as manager one bit.

I think the programme is ok as a little bit of entertainment but is very superficial and doesn’t offer anywhere near enough insight to be able to fairly judge how anyone at the club performs their role.

As for Rodgers, I think we can already see his impression on the team at this early stage. Although results have been disappointing, I don't think we realistically expected to get off to a flyer and on the whole the performances have been better than the results would suggest. I’m really impressed with how he’s bringing the kids through, even if it is partly through necessity. Overall though I hope he gets time and that fans judge Rodgers by what happens on the pitch and not by what they see on this TV series. I’ll be glad when it's over to be honest.

I think it is completely valid to talk about his managerial style based on watching it on TV. That is what this thread is about, right? Watching this progamme on TV, then discussing it.

As I said already, we will have to see how it all turns out. But results will rightly determine that.
                              Oh I don't know.

I don't really think it matters what we think. The likes of Fowler and Rush have said they've spoken to the players (obviously they went on pre-season tour with the squad) and said the players love working under Rodgers. Obviously that could easily change if results remain poor but for now it seems the squad is unanimous in its happiness under Rodgers. That's half the battle.
