i didnt take it as being the i am type thing. I thought he was more about the fact they might wonder who this quietish slightly awkward bloke was saying hi and shaking their hands.

Hmmm, not sure. I think it did come across as him wanting to seem important (he is I guess). But then he did say "I'm John" not something like "I own your club" so maybe not. Either way it was a little awkward to say the least!

Finally watched the first, last night. Wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be.

Only thing that stuck out as a major negative about Brendan, and it's been covered before, is 'that' picture of him on his own wall. Not sure what that says about him.

The portrait was a gift from a charity supporting disabled children (I think) thanking Rodgers for his work with them and supporting their charity.

The coach of the red sox in the first episode......when he and Brendan were doing the shirt presentations he came across as incredibly insincere, but in quite an odd way. In different surroundings you would have thought that Brendan was his carer.

Yeah the Red Sox coach was waaaaay too emphatic and cringey. When BR handed him the LFC shirt, he didn't even look at it, just shouted "Nice!" with an inane grin.
