The worst top flight performance for 58 years is not good grounds to be upset about the architect of that failure being removed from his post.

Dalglish has gone and he isn't coming back. I've seen Shankly, Paisley, Fagan and his glorious treble, Dalglish, Houllier (and his treble too) and Benitez come and go. The one common thing is that the club goes on. Let's hope we get the right man and the right team around him. I'd give my right arm for it to be Benitez again, but if it isn't then I'll get behind the new man.

Well summed up by Chrono. still a legend our Kenny but 8th is never good enough for LFC

Jesus Christ what's up with your generation? I couldn't be happier. It was a huge mistake to invite someone back on purely sentimental grounds who'd been out of the game so long. It was a disaster waiting to happen and it duly played out.

I was watching Liverpool for years before he came along first time round and to see him floundering and giving us such a shocking season was tragic. I've been waiting for the news that he'd be going for ages. He was taking us backwards fast and needed to go so that we could move forwards again.

So, in brief, I'm not in the minutest bit upset that he's gone. Better managers than him have come and gone before and the world still turns

I think Kenny represents a lot more than that. He's pretty much all that was left of the old guard at Anfield.

Missing the point a bit i think ? While for football reasons people can be happy Kenny left, sentimentally they can still be sad, we're not all rock hard like you.

If there is one thing I do know, its that I want a manager who wears a suit on the touchline.

To my generation he ws the King and he should have been yours to. Its not about what he gave as a a Manager this time round. Its what he gave to me growing up, Its the pure joy I got from watching him week after week and its his absolute dignity he has displayed throughout his life.

My boyhood idol that lives and breathes Liverpool FC has failed, thats sad.

Well, as Jack Nicholson once so aptly said, "I like my wine red, my meat rare and my women wild". Couldn't agree more, so perhaps that explains it!

"Sentimentally they can still be sad..." Oh boy, do I despair. Right, off to the pub in central London to meet a City fan mate and have lots of proper beers and chew the fat.

interesting read on 3-4-3 etc but it reads like you need flexible players. if any of ours play slightly out of position its like they are playing a different sport and are bloody useless
