It's his teeth isn't it? Everybody loves his cheeky smile.

I'm of a similar mindset though, I'm riding the crest of the 'something new' wave, but my head keeps dragging me down.

    EDIT: atroshush spelling.

Absolutely. We need at least 3 top class attacking players, minimum.

Hes a systems man as opposed to buying a lot of expensive talented players and expecting them to find a way of playing together.

I think hes almost got everything he needs already there. Of the current squad only adam and enrique arw on thin ice. hes got some good talent coming through the youth who need a chance so he doesnt need a lot imo.

Buying sigurdsson without looking at aquilani for instance would be a mistake.

true, but i wanted to say, maybe it would be better if he gets new people around him and start from the beginning, but of course, everything has it's cons and pros

and one question.. can now Poll can be removed?

No matter what system you play, you still need quality players to win things.

Rodgers needs to assess what hes got at liverpool before he even thinks about spending money.
I don't think he needs to do much assessing to realise that Downing, Kuyt and Adam should be moved on. That we definitely need a defensive midfielder, a wide man and a striker.

He'll have **** loads of material at his fingertips in order to assess the players we already have. We have all that player analasys stuff set up (thanks to Rafa), so he can get a good idea of how the players performed last season - as well as first hand knowledge after preparing against us twice last season. Obviously, the fact that he'll want the players to play a different system will factor into his system, but there are some that just clearly don't fit the bill.

I was thinking about this earlier. It's actually a pretty good time to bring in a new manager, as he'll have the shop window of the Euros to help him identify targets. Obviously, it's dangerous to go for players based on a one off tournament, but it's a starting point isn't it.

I think Aquilani has parped something about meeting the new manager, which is in no way related to Milan not taking up the option to buy him.

Very mixed feelings about the stadium if true.

This could be some summer providing it's not another false dawn and tomorrow we get the "yeah we are still thinking about our options" statement.
