What's people opinions on Frank Rijkaard or Deschamps? Two young, experienced and successful managers. EDIT: Both world class players too and would command respect in the dressing room.

it has to be a proven European manager anything else will be a step down.
Actually its Paul Lambert who I think would do the best job, but same thoughts as above._____________________________________

Someone (Exiled_Red maybe?) said earlier that in the future Martinez might go on to be a top manager. He might well be.
But I'd rather LFC weren't used as his guinea pig.

That's my concern too I think it's too soon for him to step up to a club of our size. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's only 38 so he has plenty of years ahead of him to learn his trade and cut his teef.
I know I keep harping on about it, but I can only see Rafa as a suitable and realistic replacement for Kenny.
And anyone who gives it the "sentimental appointment, don't go back" guff can **** off and educate themselves.
We won't get Klopp, Mourinho or Guardiola. I can't see Capello moving to us (and sadly he's probably five years too old), I'm not too keen on AVB.
So we're left with Rafa who would demand no compensation, and then the likes of Martinez, Rogers, Lambert, Curbs etc. There's only one winner there for me.

I would be amazed if Rafa comes back, I think they will want a younger manager willing to work with an older DOFOriginally posted by Lee View PostYup.
