Because they are two different jobs, with different pressures and expectations. That line of thinking it often trotted out about the likes of The Moysiah: "Oh he's done all this with no money, just think what he could do with millions at a big Club". It's comparing apples to oranges.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
I am sure Steve Clarke was told to give some alternative names to Henry/Warner during that baseballmatch over there. It would give sense - unless he was offered the job and they had to wait for an answer.
I thought he was taking a break from football? - So that's not going to happen.

I want Rafa. And we all know that Rafa would jump at the chance.
But I know they won't even consider Rafa. I think a lot of people at the club have 'poisoned' FSG against Rafa. Also, Rafa would have a problem working under a DOF. And I suspect Rafa's financial demands (i.e. his salary) might be too high.
There are so many things working against Rafa ever coming back. Yet we all know that working under decent, competent owners he'd do well. IMO, he did amazingly at Liverpool in spite of Moores, Parry, Hicks, Gillett, Purslow and a limited budget.

I probably agree.
But I also think that Rafa would work for free almost to finish off what he started.
I don't see why people are considering Martinez to be a bad appointment. If he can get Wigan beating the top teams then think what he could do with us? He wasn't having much success early season but then switched to the 3-4-3. The reason he has never been able to get Wigan higher up the table is simply because they lose key players at the end of each season and he has to teach a whole new group of players his philosophy. With stability and the same group of players each season I think Martinez could make Liverpool into a good force.
I don't think it is as simple as that. I am not totally averse to Martinez but his record is not that much more impressive compared to Bruce or Jewell. In fact Martinez's best does not stack well against Jewell's best. He has never had a positive GD. Something to ponder about before jumping on the Martinez
bandwagon.

Problem is Ian Ayres appears to have a lot of influence
