About next LFC manager. Agree with most,Rafa and also AVB would be for different reasons good for the club. But neither have been approached

BBC saying it's unlikely that it will be AVB. I don't think they've ever been wrong with articles that are officially on their website?

          Fingers crossed anyways

Not being funny (and I know it's always good to have a plan in place) but if they had approached anyone before 5 pm yesterday then they want shot. So I'm not worried that they haven't yet moved in on anyone just yet.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I voted for Maureen over Rafa mainly for his pulling power with players. He'd attract quality signings but I dont know if we've got enough cash to assemble a squad for him.

Rafa did well with a shoestring budget in the past but does he still have the same knowledge of young players in Spain? He's the more likely signing of the 2 IMO

Some links I pinched shamefully from RAWK on Villas Boas.

I dunno, if they had moved for someone at least it would show they had a plan.

I'd love to know who is advising them on the decisions.

In slightly bad taste i know but wouldn't you love to be a sub if the Mafia were to take a hit out on Jurgen Klopp. Then you could write the headline 'Clipped Klopp'

Anyhow back on subject. Damn near fell out of bed last night when i heard Alan Pardew and Robert De Matteo's names linked with the job.

He dropped Lampard which was a big mistake as he's still their best midfielder.

Out of all the sides in the premiership I'd say say we're one of the least well equipped to buy into AVB's system. We have **** all pace and there's a lack of technical, clever footballers. We're the anti-Porto. How the hell is he going to adapt his system to fit our current squad?

Yeah, I suppose what I was aiming at is that while I'd be worried if they didn't have a proposed direction of travel I would have been horrified to find out that they'd been sleeping about while Kenny was still in post (ala Hicks and Klinsmann).

And they must have someone advising them. Must have. No?

It's time to bring Rafa home. He should never have been removed in the first place, and certainly not by people like Purslow who might profess to be fans but in relaity know nothing about the club and the game and thought someone as mediocre as Hodgson would be an adequate replacement. I think our current struggles can be traced back to his departure. We wouldn't have thrown away millions on dross like Konchesky, Poulsen etc which we have no hope of recovering, turning us into relegation fodder and needing the King to return to pull us out of the hole.

He is meticulous and is the highest calibre manager who would take the job. I'd have total confidence in him to spend the transfer funds he would be given wisely and to get more out of these underperforming players. To the extent he is not able to get these players performing we know he is ruthless and will cut them loose and bring in others to replace them.

I can't decide - I think the defence + Suarez would work well enough in his system (not so sure about Skrtel but I guess he might adapt). Lucas would do well. I can see your point though.

I don't see the squad fitting Martinez or Rodgers ideally either.
