          Rafa Benitez is available ffs.
How do you know he hasn't already got his tickets to Boston also?

            theyre only speaking to him.

hes not the manager yet but speaking to him first suggests he's the no.1 target.

                    Sadly.

                    Takeaway:

Klopp - Will not leave Dortmond.
                    Guardiola - On a break.
Rafa - We all know why.

                    Who does that leave?

Van Gaal, Capello, Hiddink all too old to build a dynasty.

                    After them:

Bielsa - Can he even speak English? Not sure he's too young either. Been around a long time. Impressed with what he did in 2001 with Argentina but bottled the world cup with the most talented group of players I've seen in a long time. A very small record of winning trophies for a man whose been around so long. And he's a mad man.

Rijkaard - Great at Barca. But what has he done since. Failed everywhere and now on the take in Saudi Arabia. That shows a lack of ambition.

After them, it's a limited list.
                    Forwards.......

I wouldn't be as dismayed as most of you if we were to go for Martinez. There are clearly better candidates out there, but he could make it work. The work he did at Swansea has been absolutely first class. He's given that club an identity which has survived 2 subsequent managers. He likes his teams to play fluid, attacking football. It would certainly be a very bold move by FSG.

Another point to mention. It seems the director of football will play a huge part in the set up. Martinez and Begiristain has quite a nice feel about it.

                        Oh I don't know.

How about getting a coach that 1. has won something. 2. has CL experience. 3. has managed a big club successfully.

Shocking if Martinez gets the job. I've nothing against him at all, seems like a nice guy but it's too big a risk right now. Let him prove himself higher up somewhere else before we take the plunge.

I don't buy that though Fierce. Unless it's an attempt to flush someone else out to accept the job for lower wages we shouldn't even be considering someone of such low pedigree. What other club has spoken to half a dozen candidates prior to picking one. That's not normal is it FFS??
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

That's what's going through a lot of minds at the moment.

It just doesn't make sense. Wigan won 4 games out of the first 29 games this season before their end of season boost.

You'd hope they've got someone like Cruyff lined up as DOF.
