Agreed, but its laughable that were once some people had visions of Mourinho or Guardiola taking over and leading us to league and European triumph (when in reality, we should have been down on our hand and knees thanking Rafa for having us punching above our weight), to sacking the greatest icon in our history.

    .....and now this.
The lack of ambition is clear to see if this happens.

@EllyOldroyd: Just spoken to Dave Whelan - confirms he won't stop Roberto Martinez if he wants to go to Anfield. Says Liverpool have lost their heart.

        Who does that leave?

Van Gaal, Capello, Hiddink all too old to build a dynasty.

        After them:

Bielsa - Can he even speak English? Not sure he's too young either. Been around a long time. Impressed with what he did in 2001 with Argentina but bottled the world cup with the most talented group of players I've seen in a long time. A very small record of winning trophies for a man whose been around so long. And he's a mad man.

Rijkaard - Great at Barca. But what has he done since. Failed everywhere and now on the take in Saudi Arabia. That shows a lack of ambition.

After them, it's a limited list.
You know, when you put it like that....Why the ****in hell get rid of Dalglish!

This is a forum full of KNEE JERKERS, what the **** is wrong with most of you ****ers.

FSG have seen the problems they inherited with Wòy, they have seen the issues with Kenny and stabilising the ship. They, also, have a great record and experience in their other sporting venture. I am sure they will use all of this experience to choose who they believe is the right man for the club at this point in time.

I just hope it isnt Capello

The fans will be at war with the owners by Xmas if Martinez gets the job. What decent player's gonna sign for us with him in charge FFS?

Rafa or AVB would be the only upgrades on Kenny.

                    We've managed to go backwards.

                        i think thats the point.

we wont be in for any top draw players anymore. its buy young and develop like martinez does and has done with mcarthy and co.

                        big big call imo.

The work he did at Swansea has been absolutely first class. He's given that club an identity which has survived 2 subsequent managers. He likes his teams to play fluid, attacking football. It would certainly be a very bold move by FSG.

Another point to mention. It seems the director of football will play a huge part in the set up. Martinez and Begiristain has quite a nice feel about it.
Bergiristain would be nice, Martinez is an enormous gamble

However I fear we'll be disappointed regarding Bergiristain

There are tons of rumours doing the rounds (and I stress rumours) about who is advising them

The more rumours I hear the less confidence I have in FSG

The only realistic upgrades. If we're going with someone like Martinez, the decision to get rid of Kenny was a horrible mistake.

Been behind FSG all the way, but if we get Martinez who lets face it will be about 1% of fans choice and he doesnt start off well the owners will be in for a bumpy ride.

Also, iirc, many predicted at the time of Rafa's sacking that we would jump from wrong appointment to wrong apointment.

Watershed moment for lfc that was imo, sacking Rafa, just as 'keeping' Fergie was for UTD.
