    Not good enough.

He hasn't even improved Wigan let alone be of the calibre to improve us. Wigan have finished lower in every season he's been there then they did before. Even Swansea improved after he left them in 8th place.

I despaired at being linked to Roy in 2010 and I despair at being linked to this muck in 2012.

SSN saying there will be a number of candidates interviewed but Martinez will be the first to be interviewed.

      I feel much better now.

@NickParrottTV The BBC understands Liverpool are approaching a number of candidates for the vacancy at Anfield when it comes to the Roberto Martinez story.

Put it this way, is there anything wrong with interviewing him and seeing what he has to say; what his plans would be, his playing philosophy, who he would like to sign etc, rather than automatically writing him off?

I can't see FSG being that impressed with this. Totally unprofessional. Both phoning SKY and not being able to hold your own piss.

So who's the new DoF Tompkins alluded to earlier then?
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

I think it's the fact that the majority of us wouldn't even have him on a shortlist, much like Hodgson. It's the scale of ambition at the moment which is quite frightening. Nothing against the man.

Benitez, Villas Boas and Van Gaal are three stand-out targets who would come to us and are available for nothing.

I'm clinging onto hope that the others shortlisted are better, but I'm not betting it comes into fruition.

They'd better have an outstanding DOF to compensate for this. It's an opportunity to make a real statement of our rebuilding attempts to become the best in England and Europe (well, that's the aims of Werner). So far, not looking great.
