If we are looking at Martinez, Rodgers and/or Lambert types of signings then I really have big time worries about the direction of this club.
There are tons and tons better managers that we should be going after and not that bunch.
If saving a club in PL is good enough reason to be considered for LFC managerial job then we are ****ed big time...Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I think its gives you some accountabilityOriginally posted by BootRoom View PostDo you think that being under contract will improve the quality of the advisor's advice?Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. My best mate who is an Evertonian has summed it up perfectly
"Liverpool asking for permission to speak with Martinez about the LFC job, surely they can only be asking him advice as to who he would appoint"Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I'm suspicious of uncontracted people who support other clubs giving adviceOriginally posted by BootRoom View PostI asked if it improved the quality of the advisor's advice.
Forgive me, maybe we should go down the East Lancs and ask Fergie who we should appointBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

You could well be right. And I think if Martinez is the man we get, I'll be right behind him. He's shown a lot of promise with both Swansea and Wigan and who's to say that he wouldn't be able to take it to the next level.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostWell, i think they decided to sack Kenny in plenty of time to think over who they want in.
So i'm also thinking they've gone straight for the man they want.
Look at Rafa. He took over at Valencia on the back of winning promotion to La Liga with Tenerife and Extremadura (who he subsequently took back down to the Spanish second division). He wasn't Valencia's first choice, but they saw his potential and eventually took a punt on him. And this was a team that had been in two successive Champions League finals, so the expectations would have been extremely high.
