That's fair enough.Originally posted by acdmackay View PostJust think its time for somebody new and younger with a vision of how to play attractive football. Martinez fits the bill.
I said myself in work earlier that if we do go down the PL route then Lambert would probably be my choice too but recent news has got me a lot more excited.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

And another thing. Rafa Benitez throughout his career hasn't had lower than a 40 win%.
Even Inter he had a 48 win%. Extremadura: 40 win%. Tenerife: 50 win%. Valencia: 53 win%. Liverpool: 55 win%
Martinez = Swansea 50 win%. Wigan 26 win%.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

I thought the way he switched to 3-4-3 this season transformed the Wigan team. They started to rip the top teams apart (including us) I have thought about how we would look in this formation and in theory it could fit us very well.Originally posted by malg View PostYe sounds great shame he won't have a clue how to implement his vision.

Martinez is not the worst idea in the world. There is something about him in terms of being a young manager on the up who has created a footballing philosophy that has at least been good to watch in his first 2 clubs.
For some of the same reasons both Rodgers and Lambert equally apply here.
The problem with all 3 is that they are relative no bodies abroad. Without a stellar dof like a Cruyff it will be very difficult to attract the top players.
The no brainer in all of this is Rafa but I just can't see fsg going that direction for numerous reasons already stated in depth all over this thread.

Every season is the same though. Piss poor for three quarters of it and then they turn up all of a sudden when they're in trouble.Originally posted by acdmackay View PostI thought the way he switched to 3-4-3 this season transformed the Wigan team. It says a lot about their mentality and set-up beforehand.
