I wonder what that tweet from Kayll means. I'm going to read between the lines, get my hopes up and expect Rafa to return shortly.

That's my rose tinted logic on it too:

So Alan Kayll used to be on a forum called The Liverpool Way and was extremely anti-Rafa. Tomkins on the other hand is the biggest Rafa fan going as we all know and apparently has some sway with FSG. So reading between the lines MASSIVELY here: Tomkins is doing his level best to talk up Rafa to FSG and it’s pissing Alan Kayll off.

How much of a thing was there with Ian Ayre and Rafa at the end, how much did Rafa feel betrayed by him personally is the question, Ayre has had his contract extended too.

Are they compatible, or maybe they don't they need to be under the new structure ?

I don't think many Liverpool fans "hate" Rafa. I just think not all of them think he is flawless or the only person who could possibly ever be successful with us.



I wonder sometimes though why eveyone else can't see beyond him? Why is Rafa the only manager in world football who should stand out? Like with any potential candidate there are drawbacks with him too, his relationship with the media and his record of falling out (rightly or wrongly) with his employers are two things that might very legitimately concern FSG, even if we are not to go into other aspects of his management which people are more likely to argue about.

To be honest I'm starting to fear for whoever we do get in and their likelihood of getting a fair crack from sections of our fanbase. The spectre of Rafa could end up hanging over Anfield for many years, pretty much the way Mourinho has over Chelsea with their fans, and it makes me a little uncomfortable really. Not that I wouldn't welcome him back, though I would have some reservations, but I really don't think he is the only person who could ever be a success with us.

I'd like to see us attempt at Klopp, Rafa, AVB, Biesla, Hiddink, Van Gaal but I don't think the list will be half as good as that.

I’m a bit concerned by interviewing so many people we’re going to alienate them all slightly. Managers want to feel wanted. You headhunt someone for a position like this not advertise on Monster.com

To get someone like Guardiola you have to make him feel special, that he’s the only one you’re interested in. If he knows he’s just one of 12 being interviewed I don’t even think he’d bother turning up.
