If the club has not even spoken to Rafa then Ian Ayre is not the person who should be running our club. There is a European cup winning manager who is head and shoulders above the rest and Ayre is not talking to him because HE doesn't like him. There is no one bigger than the club especially some ****ing paper pushing MD. By the sounds of it he is doing whats best for him not whats best for LFC.

Rafa will end up as New Chelsea Manager

The issue with interviewing Rafa is that if they do that, they would have no choice but to give him a job.

Thanks Lecter, does anyone think we will get a new manager this week or is it going to carry over until next week or longer

You're probably right, he probably just wanted to **** Torres off as well! That must be why he never played him in his first season, and then when he did he left him isolated him up front on his own, as the media would often claim. Rafa must have been ****ing furious when Torres somehow managed to score all those goals despite his best efforts to stifle him!

Chelsea supporters hate Rafa, mind you they hated Torres.

Steve Nicol's view on who should be our next manager

Steve Nicol really shouldn't be allowed to speak in public.

"I would have no problem with David Moyes," said "He's a fantastic manager. We talk about having the tools to do the job, and here's a guy who's had to work with blunt instruments, shall we say, and every year he keeps doing it. I would have no problem with him getting the job."

That is small club mentality type of statement...

We need much, much better manager

All the 'FSG are this and that if they don't talk to him'. Maybe they have their reasons? I know he did all of the above, but again, if one person even dares mentions the stuff at Inter or his last season with us, they instantly a WUM who has been reading fed Sky agenda bollocks.

I've no beef with the man. It's this bizarre zombie-like 'It must be Rafa, no one else but him' that I have the beef with. I can't enjoy a discussion about him without someone just chipping in with 'I wish he was here.' Even Kenny Dalglish's reign was dogged with it. I mean, Kenny Dalglish! If he got those kind of comments, then what hope does any future manager stand?

I commented a while ago that he has the same effect on fans as Mourinho does at Chelsea. The next manager doesn't stand a chance IMO.

We are becoming the new Chelsea, but it's because of the above. We'll get Martinez or Villas Boas and when we're 7th in the table in October, the comments will be back 'We should've had Rafa'.

I wish he'd just get a job at a different club and then come back later on if there is a vacancy. Otherwise, it's just going to hang over every manager onwards because they aren't Rafa.

I wouldn't call some of the stuff I read idolising. I'd call it a cult following. I've said I've witnessed it from personal experience and that's why I react strongly with it. Nothing personal with anyone or with Rafa.
Two similarities between the two. A large number of fans thought that the manager was unfairly sacked. Also, each club has been worse off since their sacking (at least until last Saturday).

With Rafa you have the additional item of him seemingly putting aside his current career because of his family's ties to the area and his overall connection to the city.

You are right with most of the above but there are only two ways to make it go away. Success on the pitch that is at least the equal of the previous manager or bringing him back and having him succeed or fail.
