Thanjk you.

You cannot justify Roberto Martinez being interviewed for the position. Only a Match of The Day superfan can justify it. Even Swansea play better football.
I can and have defended it and I'm pretty sure I'm not a "Match of the Day superfan". Might not be my first choice but in no way would I be upset about him being appointed.
I will give Martinez my full support if he becomes our manager, but i would be lying if i said i'd happy with the appointment or that i'd be confident he would succeed.
IMO very worrying
I'm sure he'll breathe a huge sigh of relief when he finds that out

I suppose if Martinez becomes manager we can only but give hi our support and hope he gets it right. I wasn't happy when Roy was appointed but gave him benefit of the doubt for a time.

I think whatever happens the people being interviewed have clear ideas/philosophies about how the game should be played and it will certainly be interesting tactically. Which is an advance over Hodgson, even if it still doesn't seem to justify a change from Kenny.
With reference to Rodgers, the criticism of how toothless Swansea often seemed is valid IMO. On the flip side could having Gerrard, Carroll and Suarez change the dynamic? Hard to tell. I think you could level a lot of the criticisms aimed at Swansea at the Spain WC winning teams, which seems like a decent enough model to aspire to. In some ways the aim are similar to the Rafa model - tighten defence, control where the game is played and build from there.
Not sure that Wigan played worse football than Swansea either. They were much more variable but towards the end of the season they played some excellent stuff (in attack and defence).

For those slagging off Martinez, go and read about pre Valencia Rafa. He was ****.
This makes no sense. We didn't sign him after his "****" (that's dubious anyway) spell at Tenerife, we hired him after he won La Liga twice with Valencia.
If we were hiring Martinez off the back of two Premier League titles with Wigan I don't think you'd hear anyone complaining, but we're not

Yeah but did you see the team Rafa inherited? One of the best teams in the world that were champs league runners up back to back 2000 & 2001. Rafa took over after Cuper and inherited players like Cañizares, Roberto Ayala, Rubén Baraja, Albelda, Vicente, Aimar, Kily Gonzalez, Mendieta, Deschamps. Literally some of the best players in the world at that time. An incredible team!
If Martinez takes over he'll inherit Downing,Henderson,Spearing,Adams,Carroll etc the comparison doesn't hold any water.

You mean the same Rafa that had bags of experience with the Real Madrid youth teams up to the B team before going it alone and after a **** start, got himself going.
You cannot compare pre-Rafa with Martinez.
Why isn't Tony Pulis getting a look in then? Got a good record, better than Martinez anyway.
