You'd expect Liverpool to be the first to unveil Martinez as our manager not the other way round. The fact that the Echo and Barrett for example have consistently said that we intend to interview other candidates makes it even more premature that Martinez will announce he is leaving.
Yeah I would say there is more chance of him doing a Wigan press conference to say he is staying. Although I don't think anything will have been decided yet

Is this not Dave Wheelans 'deadline' ?

Maybe they have told fsg that unless they give him the job by then, he'll announce he's staying at Wigan ?

Odd way of doing things though if it's true.

He must be doing something right, as something tells me they set very high standards.
Maybe he licks arses far more efficiently than the others did

I quite like the thought of switching to a 3-4-3 formation. It would be a interesting move anyway - and I think we more or less have the players to fit the system. I think Enrique would make a perfect wing back actually. Both him and Johnson would be great in that set up. I think if we did move to that set up, we'd clearly need a new centre back, a new forward and a new defensive midfielder (competition and cover for Lucas) - and we'd be pretty much set.

Maybe. Maybe not. Point is, we don't really know.

Yeah it did worry me in that EPL piece that they had Downing as a wingback

I'd still worry where the goals would come from

We dont know what has actually gone on in the background

But a Managing Director should be the figurehead / public face of the company

I've not seen anything from Ayre publicly to suggest hes done enough to stay in his job nevermind get an extension & extra powers

                    Where was he during Suarez-gate??

Not impressed with Ayre, and his contract extension etc.. is warping my opinion of FSG frankly

Yeah totally. But that's a worry no matter what system we play. I do think that Carroll and Suarez will score more next year, but then I am an optimist.

Regardless, we definitely need another forward who can give those two some competition if they're not scoring.

The look is spot on. Substitute Homers yellow face for bright red and it'd be perfect.

Depends really, doesn't it. You don't hear much from the managing directors at other clubs. In football, the manager is the public face.

The whole Suarez incident was a **** up and with hindsight, he should have handled it far better. So should Dalglish. So should Suarez himself. But none of them did - we just have to hope that lessons have been learned.

Let FSG judge Ayre's performance mate - they're far better equipped. If he's really no good for the club, I'm sure they'll get rid of him.

I've said the club as a whole should have handled it better but Ayre seems to have gotten away with it scot-free when in reality he was asleep at the wheel when it was going on

There is no way senior executives at other clubs would have let that situation escalate in the manner Ayre allowed it to

Complete lack of leadership and the fact it took FSG's intervention on the matter is a ****ing damning indictment of those in charge of the day to day running of things at the club

Thing is I dont trust FSG - they have not impressed me in the slightest.

I've heard too much about Ayre, far too much and if even 10% of it is true (and frankly I'd bet on the vast bulk of it being true) the man should not even be near LFC nevermind Managing Director

You do not know jack **** about what went on, who did what, who was responsible for what, your opinions which are perfectly valid are none the less take from pure conjecture and speculative folly. As for your assessment of what a MD should or should not do, again you opinion which you are obviously entitled too, does not mean its in anyway grounded in the reality of the actual role or what its key responsibilities or deliverables are.

I think FSG will surprise you lets hope you are wrong and I am right ehh
