To be honest, I wouldn't even think about either of them with Rafa and Cappello on the job market, and both willing to take the job ...

Do we have any evidence that is true about Capello?

          I obviously agree re: Rafa.

Not quite the same, Purslow also got involved in transfers personally, FSG are not.

And I genuinely believe we will do better next season than we did last season.

Maybe this is all coming about due to the 'control' that FSG are prepared to give the first team coach?

Martinez is said to have wanted a full control of the transfers and coaching side but FSG seem adamant on the DOF and a coach for the team

Rogers, having worked within youth set ups at reading and Chelsea is maybe happier in that role

Also having just seen he paid 1.75m for Leroy Lita I wouldn't want him anywhere near the transfer kitty

                Here is the source ...

The only approaches Capello and his representatives have received so far have been from agents, offering to act as go-betweens with Liverpool. Capello's team have told them that if they bring a deal to their table then they will consider it. The former England manager's stance appears to be far more positive, from a Liverpool perspective, than the majority of continental managers who have been connected with the job since Dalglish was dismissed last Thursday. The Ajax manager Frank de Boer and Marseilles' Didier Deschamps both formally rejected the idea of taking charge of Liverpool yesterday, yet Capello is looking for a project. He accepts that his next role does not necessarily have to be at a Champions League club and he has always viewed Liverpool as one of the big English jobs.

I know that people like to think positive, and it is nothing wrong with that, but FSG's decisions so far have been questionable, at best ... This is not some baseball franchise ... It is a football club with long-standing and proud traditions and principles, and if they decide to ignore those traditions and principles, there is only one way this entire situation could turn out ...
And int what traditions and principles are our owners obliged to talk to a manager sacked 2 years a go at the club? I'm not really sure we ever done that before?

I don't really think they have done anything wrong per se. They have gotten things done behind the scenes again as we are used to and they are now implementing a new stratagy for the club. I disagreed with the decision to sack Kenny, but with everything else happening around the team it really seems they want to start over. My point is just that I don't understand why they have to interview Rafa if they have decided to move forward from a clean.

FSG might not be involved with the transfers, but Ian Ayre is ... He is the new Cecil ... What exactly are his footballing credentials, apart from that disastrous spell at Huddersfield?

Ayre's influence in critical footballing matters is certainly worrying.

                        Is he really?

Firstly, which transfers (be specifc, you do seem know everything)?

Secondly, why would the DoF / Sporting Director not do that once they are appointed.
                        Oh I don't know.

Is he? He does the negotiating, he doesn't actually buy players or sell players. That is what we'll be getting a DoF for.

This is all very underwhelming. I'm hoping that all the Rogers talk is just some kind of elaborate hoax plan to throw us off the scent and Klopp is on his way in a helicopter (too short range probably, maybe a light aircraft or private jet..)

We need a unifying figure to really get behind. I'd really fear for Martinez or Rogers here - the last thing we want is for a fan revolt and another sacking before christmas. Then we'll be back to square one.

The fans will be singing for Benitez if he doesn't get a new job, and if we get off to a shakey start under the new man / men.

We already have a pretty solid first team squad, and a very solid Reserves/Academy setup ... Most of our players, both senior and junior, were signed, promoted or at least scouted by Rafa and his staff ... People running the Reserves/Academy were hired by Rafa ...

Why should we start from the clean? The idea is pretty ridiculous ... It seems to me like that urge that every woman gets every spring, to move and re-arrange the furniture in the house, with no apparent reason ...
