Not a big fan of Henderson and I still have doubts he's what we needed but I think first it is too early to judge him properly and secondly we have to see how he'll fit in Rodgers' tactical scheme where at least on the paper it looks he may do much better than with Kenny, who in fairness used him out of position quite regularly.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI just don't see it, he isn't actually very good right now. We need players who offer a lot more.

I don't think that we could afford Belhanda, now that his profile has been raised significantly, and with Montpellier in the Champions League ... Boudebouz is probably a more realistic option ... I have always rated Afellay, but his injury record has been very poor since he has joined Barca ... Krasic would have probably been a good fit in Kenny's system, but he has been struggling at Juventus under Conte, in a system that is very similar to the one that Rodgers usually uses ... Elia is probably a better fit for Rodgers' system, but he has also struggled under Conte, so it is difficult to tell ...Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostWe've been linked with Boudebouz and Belhanda who might both be able to fill that role. I was also seeing a link to Affelay for £6m(!) so you never know... There's also Elia and Krasic who are available apparently.Last edited by Macedonian_Red; 31-05-12, 01:08 PM.

There is that.
I think you're being a bit premature in your judgement of Henderson. I don't think he was bought with the intention of playing every week, it was just the way we kinda fell a little thin on the ground in the middle of the park.
I know he's a little light in the challenge, but he does have a tendency to 'nick' the ball and he does have a very good ability to spot an early pass - perhaps his teammates weren't on the same wave length? Henderson has very clever movement and found some great pockets of space, but I don't think he demanded the ball enough, nor was he found.
I definitely think he has a great future.

It's a fair comment. I do have concerns about how he will feature under Rodgers; defensively he'll be sound, but going forward he'll need to be a lot quicker in his decision making and he will definitely need to release the ball a lot quicker.Originally posted by cream View PostHe's good at getting up the pitch but then he doesn't know what to do.

I prefer Breno to Brendo. Rolls off the toungue a bit better, at least for this aussie.Originally posted by Muddled View PostDefinitely.
I'm going with Rodgers at the moment, which is slightly rude, granted, but I refuse to call him Brendan, Brenden or Brendon.
Buck makes me smile and takes me back to my youff, but I'm not fully committed to it.

I think Kuyt probably understands the style already better than most in the team but like others have pointed out he is getting a bit old now and he never had much pace to begin with, a very good passer/team player though.
If henderson is ever going to make it as a great player at this club it will be under this passing style.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Kenny bought him with intentions of bedding him in and playing him quite regularly based on what he showed at Sunderland but some players need either more time to adjust or they are just not good enough.Originally posted by Muddled View Post

Time will tell on Hendo but we didn't spend 16m on him and hope he'll deliver over longer period of time.
The expectation was that he will demonstrate great potential from early on and show signs that he can cut it at this level and that hasn't really happened yet.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

RAWK have released a statement
RAWK.
The forum.
A statement.
Brendan Rodgers is the new manager of Liverpool.
We at RAWK have always firmly believed that one of the strengths of being a Liverpool supporter is that we support the manager. We welcome him to our club and sincerely hope he understands the culture and history and requirements of one being manager at Liverpool Football Club, one of the major jobs in the world of football.
There may be some fans on here who did not wish for his appointment, perhaps preferring any number of other candidates. Let us make one thing clear: We support our manager. Full stop. If any of you are unable to do that, you will find yourselves looking for another fansite to post on. Liverpool supporters are meant to do things the right way and make no mistake, we will remove persistent whingers, moaners, nostalgists and petty posters from this site without a second thought.
Welcome Brendan, you've a bloody big pair of boots to fill. Good luck and welcome and all the best from us at RAWKThanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He may have a good future, I am reserving judgement on that. However, right now he isn't good enough imo.Originally posted by Muddled View Post

I believe on 3 players played more minutes than Henderson last season Reina, Skrtel and Enrique.
I just don't see his movement or passing being anything special right now. He has shown his best play imo, coming on as a sub v United and at rb v Blackburn. Aside from that he is an average cm and and a average rm.Last edited by Mattshark; 31-05-12, 01:23 PM.
