What have they done wrong exactly? Kenny himself said he was only there to help the club and would step aside if they decided they want someone else. You can argue he could be given more time but they made a decision to change things now. He was positive in his response to losing his job, got a nice payoff and will be involved with the club in one capacity of another.

How about we wait to see how this pans out instead of throwing insults at the very people who saved this club from destruction?

I think as far as both parties are concerned it makes the most sense. I imagine he was offered the chance to stay without promises and he chose to cut his losses. Like I said, I would have been amazed if he had stayed on at the club.

Personally although I rate him I think it makes sense that we are starting from scratch and laying the foundations for a new manager to get the club in to the vision he has. Onwards and upwards.

Tony Barrett (The Times) and James Pearce (Echo) say he has

I think its highly likely he has gone considering their contacts at Liverpool

If he resigned out of loyalty as Tony B suggests he wont get a pay off

As I said, I think he decided to walk given that his job would be up in the air which definitely means no pay off.

Never liked Clarke at Chelsea or WHU, but I think he was a good appointment for us. I think we'll miss him.

Good luck to the guy - hope he does well in the future and I'm sure he will.

                          Indeed

It was an utterly bizarre reaction. Things have gone wrong. Things need to be put right. Omelette, egg breaking etc. We can all argue about the decisions but they've gone about things in the correct manner as Kenny said himself.

Totally agree with Chrono & RedPolo, I don't get why people are on FSG's backs all of a sudden. If it turns out that they haven't thought this through or they go about making a bunch of stupid appointments now, then we'll have grounds for complaint. But right now, is there any reason at all that we shouldn't believe Kenny when he says

Whilst I am obviously disappointed to be leaving the football club, I can say that the matter has been handled by the owners and all concerned in an honourable, respectful and dignified way and reflects on the quality of the people involved and their continued desire to move the football club forward in the same way as when they arrived here

Seemed to me like the majority of people thought Kenny wasn't doing as well as he should have this season and was at least partially responsible for some pretty poor transfer market activity. While its sad to see him go, its hardly a real shock either. Everyone else who has been gotten rid of there were concerns about too. And Clarke, well, if he's resigned there wasn't much they would or could do, plus you'd expect a new manager to want to bring in his own team.

While we can have legitimate concerns about the future we have at least gotten on the case with making these changes swiftly, and it rather puts paid to thoughts that FSG would struggle making hard decisions. If anything they've shown they can be decisive and that they expect results, hardly a bad thing with owners imo.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                            Mine angry and defrauded young?

Personally I think Clarke might have been part of the problem. I'm not sure why everyone is rating him so highly.
I wanted Dalglish to stay and be given more time but I also wanted him to shake up his backroom staff and Clarke would have been on my out list.

Just read on Twitter that Ian Ayre has said that Clarke has NOT gone. Don't know where he's apparently said that.
