I think he looked the part, the defence seemed to improve pretty rapidly and, recently, the fact that a lot of us craved some continuity during a period of uncertainty.
Now Rodgers has come in, seems credible enough so far and brought his backroom team with him, it seems less essential to keep Steve Clarke.
In other words, the general view of Clarke is instinctual rather than based on any real insight.
