New Manager Poll "Without Rafa"

Haven't voted myself yet but I'd reluctantly have to go for AVB as manager (he might be a risk, but he's the type of risk we shoulf be taking) with Louis van Gaal as DoF, complete and utter cluster****!
I'd actually prefer Louis van Gaal to be manager I think, his record is ridiculous, but I'm convinced FSG after after a young manager so that rules him out anyway.

I went for Rafa in the original poll, in this one the manager who catches my eye the most is Ancelotti, never going to happen though.
It seems FSG want a young manager, the only manager we have permission to speak to is young, the managers that almost daily have turned us down are young, so I am surmising we will appoint a young manager ( I'm a genius I know). Out of Rodgers, AVB & Martinez I would go for Martinez. I think out of those three Martinez comes across the best and conducts himself in an honest and respectful way. He also handles the media well, although he has never been set upon by the media as our last few managers have. I would prefer none of the three managers named above got the job at Liverpool but it looks increasingly like one of them will get the job, so for me it'd be Martinez out of those three.

Can't really understand the AVB love. We have players older than him. I guess he's better than Rodriguez or Rodgers. The only accomplishment he really has is winning the Europa League. His year in Porto was nice, but it's not like their league is super competitive. Then he failed in an admittedly tough situation with Chelsea. This is the resume for our top managerial possibility? If so, Kenny should have stayed.

Conversely, Kenny wipes the floor clean with AVBs record. But Kenny was proven to have 'not succeeded' as much as the fans and owners hoped. Especially around the attraction and motivation of good players.Originally posted by Mello View PostCan't really understand the AVB love. We have players older than him. So records aren't all that accurate either. AVB is a good risk to take at this stage as we're not getting Guardiola or Mourinho. One tit for another.

This is what I can see happening. Martinez (unfortunately) gets appointed, with Van Gaal as DoF. Martinez doesn't cut it- Van Gaal steps in as interim and succeeds. We all wonder why we didn't just appoint him in the first place, then we remember this is Liverpool and that nothing is ever straight forward. Just for the record Rafa would be my choice for manager. In Klopp we trust.

I think if AVB is given the time and support, it could turn out to be a very good signing.
Chelsea obviously saw enough in him to pay the 7mill compo and he'll have some unfinished business as far as the premiership is concerned..
I think he'll have learnt a lot from his experience at Chelsea and this can only work in our favour..

I echo Zapater there, Ancelotti is a winner, but he's on the gravy train at PSG.
I dunno, I voted AVB, but he's going to be such a huge risk. The van Gaal thing gives a lot more security to the position - he's a winner too with a massively successful record. I'm dubious.
I really don't understand why FSG want to reinvent the wheel at Liverpool though. I understand they want to put their ownership and methods in place, but they've never owned a football club before. That may sound a bit like I'm adverse to change, but we're falling so far behind, why can't we consolidate with a proven manager with a view to instigating change in the future?
