Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

When Fowler has started this season he has scored. Last time Fowler and Bellamy started was against Sheff Utd. With his appearance tonight Momo becomes the most played outfield player.

The thing is that should be the best partnership if you had to put Zenden in, as he should be adopting the Alonso role of passing and creating the play, which I think he's capable of (obviously no to the same level). Sissoko still in there should hold the side defensively, as well it was those two in the middle in the CS wasn't it?Originally posted by bazza76Its actually the midfield that bothers me, i know its more experienced than the back 4, just not a big fan of the Sissoko-Zenden partnership in midfield.Thomas Hicks Senior

Im not too confident at all, they will have the memory of the loss last season fresh on their minds, am expecting a tough physical game, although as Rafa said, they are probably better off losing as it may distract them.Originally posted by MorphorinoWhat are everyones thoughts on this match anyway?
Don't think it's going to be as easy as some make out.
Brum will be looking not to shame themselves again, and we've put out a team with a fairly inexperienced back line.
Think it's going to be a tight 2-1 affair in our favour.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

How did Robbie Savage ever get on TV? He spouts some ****e and mumbles like crazy.
I think this is a great test for the young lads, and a good chance for Pennant to do some damage and do his confidence some good.
Would agree with Morph, will be tight enough.Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it

I am glad lee is playingOriginally posted by bazza76Im not too confident at all, they will have the memory of the loss last season fresh on their minds, am expecting a tough physical game, although as Rafa said, they are probably better off losing as it may distract them.I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah it was them in the community shield, i dont know, I just know momo likes to cover alot of ground, and im not confident with Zendens defensive game. then we have our inexperienced backline behind them.Originally posted by MorphorinoThe thing is that should be the best partnership if you had to put Zenden in, as he should be adopting the Alonso role of passing and creating the play, which I think he's capable of (obviously no to the same level). i think it's gonna be a difficult match as usual against Brum, but it will be won in midfield, agree about a 2-1 score. Not concerend one bit about our defence..Aurelio is not playing so we'll be fine

Any idea's from a neutral view of what other clubs perceptions are of us in cup competitions? I mean if you supported another team are we the team you'd least like to be drawn against, or are teams like Chelsea and Man U still more feared than us, given recent years performances?Thomas Hicks Senior
