    No. they are not.

edit: and if they were, i'd be looking forward to seeing Ayre flicking at DW ears next time Wigan come to Anfield.

I think hes a cracking commercial director hes done a great job in that field

I dont like him as MD I dont think he deals well with the public side of things (as evidenced by the latest effort)

He was asleep at the wheel whilst the Suarez situation rumbled on and now we have these daft comments

Thats before we even get into the comments hes made regarding Rafa & Kenny

Its daft, I remember PBR when he spoke people listened and there was an air of humility & dignity about the club back then

I dont see those comments by Ayre as either dignified or having humility and it says a lot that Whelan has come out of this looking better than Ayre

        Well said Lec.

Ayre really should have held his tongue, or at least made a more tactful comment about doing our business behind closed doors compared to Whelan's ongoing commentary to the BBC and Sky Sports.

It feels like he stays in the background when he should take the lead, and jumps into the spotlight when he should stand back.

I'm hoping the new Comms director recommends that Ayre goes on some media training.

If that was Kenny quoted as saying that, post management, no one would be arsed and I'm sure we'd be saying well done..

It's all soundbytes from Ayre and so what... about time..

          Showing some bollocks at last...
Have a dig back by all means, the ""It is disappointing, then, that Dave Whelan felt the need to run the kind of sideshow he conducted via Sky Sports News and various other media outlets." one was fine. The John Bishop gag was seriously unfunny, cringeworthy and we've now allowed Dave Whelan to come out and take the moral highground.

Yep, completely agree with this. He hasn't really bothered me before, but Ayre has really annoyed me with this. It makes himself look amateur.

Might as well gone all out and called Whelan a cunt.

I agree with what he said, but there was no need for him to say it, it looks classless and small time
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Ohh for ****s sake some of you are a little too precious ... no body even batted an eyelid

Whelan acted like an Ass, our MD commented on the fact he acted like an Ass ... should he have .. perhaps ... perhaps not ... is it a big deal ....no ... was he responsible for sacking Rafa ...no ... Is Kenny a ****ing grown ass man and in control of his own gob ... yes ... Ian Ayre is our MD not there MD .. he is doing what he thinks is best for the club .. and he is not responsible for everything that has gone wrong ... even if he is responsible for certain issues .. we are obviously going into a massive rebuilding .. rebooting .. clean slate ... how about we drop the negativity and not so primed to piss all over our club
